Hi All. I have, sat gathering dust, 2 x screens for my Gen 1 FZS 1000. 1 x blue, 1 x smoke/clear. Also, I have a tatty but useable radiator grille. To keep it fair, 1 item per foccer, you pay the postage.  PM or e-mither me. Kev

Hi All.
So I've just been for a pootle back from Southport, gave a lad who works for me a lift home, been riding back, nothing silly as there has been a lot of traffic being evening. Into a slow, first gear left hander at the roundabout, go for second and CCCCRRRRUUUUNNCCCH.... Gear lever feels a little wooly, tries to go for second again, crunch, engage then jump out... Thinking it's me being a gonk, I go for first, it engages, into second and it engages then jumps out. Hmmmmm
Manage to get the gears to engage, riding along, pulling up to a set of lights and it jumps out of second. Gear lever feels like it's not returning from the up shift, and now feels VERY notchy altogether. The scenario has happened a few times now, where it is very notchy, and jumps out of second.
Fortunately, I bought the bike three weeks ago from a local Yam Dealer, and the bike has 3 months warranty.
Please could any of the more mechanically minded Foccers advise if this is a well known fault on the thou, I know the 600 was well known for jumping out of first if you gave it some welly, but I wonder if you could cast some light on the (endless) possibilities?

What is the standard length for dog bones please?
My bike has some shiny anodised things on, that have obviously replaced the originals. Reason for asking, want to use the bike for touring, with me, the missus and luggage, and dont want to bottom out.
Also, the front forks are through the yokes by about 25-30 mm, is this standard or has someone been lowering things?

Done to death, I know, but I have been running roadsmarts now for the last couple of years on an FZS 600. Since picking the thou up, I have been a little wary of the square death Metzeler fitted to the front and rear of the bike. Previous owner looked after the thing, but must've had stabilisers on it.... I am contemplating changing the Metz to either Roadsmarts, or pushing the boat out and going to say maybe a pair of Pilot 3's... Anyone had the chance to do any direct comparisons on these tyres? I'm seing some bargain prices for front and rear sets on fleabay for PR1's, but is the extra £80 justifiable? The bike will be taking me, the missus, and some luggage to Scotland in May, so mainly A/M road cruising for the first 1500 miles or so.. Any advice greatfully received, or is there a tyre out there that just suits the 1000 that I am missing? I am not a GP hero, but do have my moments!  Ta Kev

Ok, so I am getting old, I have vastly abused my body over the years, and yes, I do feel 100 in the body and 10 in the head...
This was happening on the 600, and it's appeared on the thou, after about 3 hours in the saddle, I get a cramping pain in the top inner of me left thigh.
I am contemplating a pretty decent run up to Cullen in May, via The Cairngorms. I will then be coming back via Blairgowrie, Perth etc...
I don't want to be hobbling when I'm off the bike.
Can anyone reccomend any exercises or stretches that will help, or am I better going to the vets for a put down shot?
Any advice or abuse welcomed..

Just bought a lovely 2004 FZS100, and with it came a superb one piece rain suit made by "TT Leathers" It's in black and blue, with a bum bag. It's small in size, and in 9/10 condition, it hardly looks worn at all. I know that these don't sell for much, and to be honest, I don't want to fleabay it. What I'm hopiing to do, with the site admin permission, is to donate any proceedings from the suit to "Action For Heroes", "Marie Curie Cancer" or a childrens Charity of the sites choice. I know it won't be a big donation, but every little helps. Looking for £15 plus post, I guess the post will be a fiver, if it's more, I will pay it, if it's less, it will go to the charity chosen. The white dots are from dust on me bloomin Iphone, sorry about the quality Jack Russell not included.....     Please either PM or email me. Thanks for the use of the site.

The boards still around..
Been inactive for some while, been riding, but not been on the net.
Loved the old Yuku site, and glad to see FOC-U is going strong.
Now replaced old FZS 600 with a Thou... and loving it more than ever.
Thanks to Admin and mods for keeping the site running.
