saw this video on another forum. Thought it was worth posting on here.

Thats a good film - it makes the world of difference if someone takes charge at the scene and does the 'prep work' - to many people will do nothing due to some urban myth about getting sued!

When its your turn and your there its your time to do your bit and help - the emergency services will get there as soon as they can and will be seriously grateful for the work you have done prior to their arrival.

as I said a good film

very good. ambulance crew did a good presentation at our local bike club. the question was asked: if the person is not breathing and you are some distance from an ambulance, should the helmet come off? the answer was: yes, preferably with someone else holding the head as lid is removed. normal cpr can then be carried out.

Very good after seeing this video i enrolled in a first aid course. Completed the course yesterday with st johns ambulance very good indeed i highly recommend it. Just so i am able to help in a situation should it arise rather than not being able to help at all.

Good vid, mainly common sense but I must say I would not have thought to check if his pegs were down.

Just shows that however much you think you know, you will NEVER know it all.

BTW. many years ago I was first on scene when an artic pulled out of a side road and the biker went under it.
However helpless you feel, the little you do can make a big difference.
I used to not give a foc, then I discovered Red Bull and now I don't give a flying foc !!!

My mate and I were both enrolled on a first bike on the scene course next month but he came off last Sunday and broke his neck  :eek

He broke the peg of vertibrae 2 but was lucky- the specialist told his wife 90% of the time he is talking to the widow.

He is at home now after a week and in a neck brace for three months but he got off lightly- oh he also bruised his thumb! :rolleyes

More than ever going to do the course next month now!- you never know!
