Cheers Brooker, couldn't work out why they were fouling the centre stand at first but then noticed I'd lost the rubber stop that hits the link pipe. All sorted now and yes, there's a place that powder coats just down the road from me, think the rear hangers need doing too.

Prep for Germany.

Brakes cleaned and inspected, greased or lubed all parts that need, unblocked scottoiler, fit autocom and generally relaxed with the bike.

Took my daughter out for a ride to glasson dock also with a work buddy.
Got home to find my shiny new knee sliders sat there just delivered, so went out again to try and 'bed them in'.
30 miles of roundabouts later...............
Can I get them down, can I buggery! Peg blobs took a hammering, tyre edge gone, but no slider contact. Gotta keep trying;D
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

Ordered oil and filter and a set of more normal sized indicators to fit on, don't like mini ones.

Took it for its MOT (passed  8) ) then spent 15 minutes trying to figure out where this spring had come from that appeared in my top box

Then I found the rest of the broken pen in the document holder.  :b

Used a Kiddies paintbrush set to fill in the paint chips on my engine. Couldn't find a decent aerosol !

Ripped the META alerm of my bike and bypassed it using a paper clip, couldn't get any wires securley into the connectors, started first time, :D   Only to find where I've sited my scottoiler is directly above the area where the alarm was spliced into the main loom and overtime any oil leaks (during filing) has dripped onto the area and all the loom tape has come adrift in the area and may be causing my cutting out issue. Need to clean the area and re-tape all the single connections and loom.

Any ideas of best cleaning fluid to remove the oil residue without causing more long term problems? I was actually thinking of using Brake and clutch cleaner (quick flash off time and fairly heavy duty).

Had a gentle run out to Paignton bike night. Spotted a couple of Fazers, Had a cuppa then a rather more exciting ride home with a couple of mates I met there.

You could give brake cleaner a go and see what happens. Also try a little engine degreaser on a cloth, that'll get rid of the oil.
A bit of petrol or nail polish remover on a cloth with definately get rid of the sticky tape residue.
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

GT85has a light solvent action on glue residues & wont harm your electrics.
