Just to let you guys know I have arranged a 20% discount for all FOC-U forum members on all Scottoiler products.

We can deal with them direct by calling 0141 955 1100 quoting FOC-U. These can be ordered individually so no group or bulk orders required.

Out of interest, with this discount bbb, how much would a normal v system scottoiler and a dual injector be?

There are 3 different V systems that will fit the FZS600

Scottoiler Mini Vsystem + Free FS 365 is £74.95 less 20% = £59.96

Scottoiler Vsystem + Free FS 365 is £89.95 less 20% = £71.96

Scottoiler Vsystem Touring Kit + Free FS 365 is £125 less 20% = £100

The Dual Injector is £24.95 less 20% = £19.96

You can see these from this link http://www.scottoiler.com/uk/Kits.html

FS 365 is a corrosion protection spray is worth £7.48 (free with your order) for all year round protection http://www.scottoiler.com/uk/products/scottoiler-fs-365.html

I would love to see the other persons face on the phone when they ask if have a promotional code....yes....FOC-U  :lol

Scottoiler comment on buying cheaper on ebay

"Thanks for giving it a plug and there are always guys who prefer ebay. We have to sell at retail price or our dealers would be upset. Except of course special discounts like you have. Some people prefer the security of buying direct from the manufacturer too."

Cheers

I assume buying from eBay also means that you wouldn't get the warranty provided by Scottoiler compared to if you buy direct - just trying to give an incentive to buying direct. I also like the idea of supporting a manufacturer directly providing their prices aren't extortionate in comparison to their product. The 20% discount is definitely a good gesture from them and if you like their product I think we should consider buying direct... I would if I didn't already have one from my 600...

Init, £90 direct or <£75 off eBay delivered

Plus your free FS 365 at £7.48.........so you'd be £7.52 better off.....the price of a couple of pints!!!!!

I kinda agree with Dead Eye, better to support the manufacturer and go direct and get a proper warranty direct too......probably worth the extra IMO

Anyway it gives you an option for anyone thinking about buying one

Why would you buy from eBay, when you can pay the same (actually slightly less, it seems?) and get direct from the manufacturer, have much easier discussions should a warranty claim be needed, and be giving all the profit from the transaction to the company who has designed, built, and is taking all the risk of being in business, instead of some parasite sitting in his spare bedroom?

Actually, for those reasons, I'd be quite happy to pay slightly more!

Actually, for those reasons, I'd be quite happy to pay slightly more!

Whilst ebay does still have some parasites selling from their spare bedroom, the link provided is to a company that has been trading since 1977.

Scottoiler's total price for v system, dual injector and bottle of spray comes to £114.90 (before discount) or £91.92 (after discount) excluding postage (couldn't find delivery costs on Scottoiler's website).
(Reputable) ebay price for the same = £82.89 including delivery.

I can see no issue with a warranty claim from the ebay retailer, even if you wanted to liaise directly with Scottoiler, as their registration section allows you to register a product bought from third party sellers.

Whilst with the discount arranged by bbb (thanks for taking the time to do that) does make them only 10% more expensive, without it, they would be nearly 40% (38.62) more expensive than a retailer (who is also taking a risk being in business).

Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with conciously paying more to one retailer than another if I can reasonably justify it (better service, supporting a local retailer, etc), but when a manufacturer is significantly more expensive than the retailers (who they've aready made a profit from), I find it harder to justify purchasing directly from them.
