ECU replacment
« on: 26 September 2012, 09:53:56 am »
Just a quick update

My ECU failed on my FZ6S2 due to corrosion on the pins with a £600 price tag for an OEM virgin Yamaha replacement

Those nice guys at motomatric.co.uk sold be a second hand ECU that they had fettled to be a virgin ECU and just heard from the bike shop that it is working and my bike is back on the road for £170!  :)

Who's a happy bunny then!

Looks like you will be back on the road in time for "the rainy season"!-oops forgot thats all year round nowadays. Take it you will be protecting new ECU multipin connectors against  future water ingress. I use ACF 50-not cheap but a little goes a long way :lol

That's a huge difference in price. It's always good to see a satisfied customer.

Good to see you got it fixed at a decent price.

If you worried about falling off your bike, you'd never get on.

Talking of rainy season... I was lucky enough to be in Portugal last week and went to Portomao for the WSB round and we had flooding on the track and thinder and lightning before the racing could start I was OK up in the grandstand in the dry

No matter how many times you watch a race on the TV there is nothing like being there and hearing the noise echo off the pit lane and grandstand walls
