FZS600 Fazer / V-v-v-v-vibration
« on: 19 June 2016, 09:00:55 pm »
Does anyone know a good way of getting rid of handle bar vibration. Anyone who has seen my "I'm flumoxed" thread will know I have replaced my engine. After testing, it would seem I have inherited a vibration between 70&80 mph. Any tips or tricks to help reduce or eliminate said vibration chaps???

FZS600 Fazer / Im flumoxed

Ok everyone any assistance with this problem wont get my hair back but it will help me stop making the head sized hole in my garage wall any bigger. My 03 fzs600 foxeye is playing silly beggars. If I ride for several miles at a speed over 70mph she dies as in fuel starvation.  A few on/offs of the ignition and the cards are primed and were moving again. 60 mph is fine she will run all day. So logic says the fuel pump is caput yet it seems to be in fine working order, points and all. So could the tps cause the pump to pump slow?  Even if the tps checks out ok when tested?    Help!!!!!

FZS600 Fazer / Carb hoses
« on: 10 April 2016, 01:16:25 pm »
Ok, I'll admit my schoolboy error.
I'm swapping my fzs600 2003 foxeye engine and all is going well until I fit the carbs. I have 2 small metal pipes, facing upward, situated on the front of the carbs. 1 between carbs 1&2 the other between 3&4. There is a small pipe outlet on the upper right hand side of the radiator which i am thinking should connect to the 2 on the carbs. I have no recollection  if I took these pipes off or not. Can anyone help as Haynes is as useful as ever on this matter?

FZS600 Fazer / Scott oiler oil....
« on: 20 June 2015, 01:00:39 am »
So i am thinking of fitting a scott oiler to my fzs600. Now the "official" oil is redonkulesly expensive BUT, i am informed that a regular 10w50 will do the job just as well for a fraction of the cost.

Question. Is this information reliable???

FZS600 Fazer / Strange goings on in the fuel department...
« on: 04 May 2015, 06:33:02 pm »
Hi guys,
I am experiencing a strange problem, well 2 problems but i think they may well be related.
My baby is a 2003 FZS600 foxeye (carbs not injection).
So here it is. I switch her on, let the fuel pump stop clicking and press the button for an instant start with no choke needed, unless deep winter is upon us. so far so good. She pulls well though the revs and has no signs of any problems. Problem 1 is after riding for several miles, say about 10 miles, at low speed stop start at 30 -40mph,  she will bog down on acceleration. If i get to ride at a constant speed of over about 40mph she clears up and runs fine but the problem returns after a few miles of congestion.
Problem 2 is when i get to the faster part of my trip to work i can accelerate and have my arms pulled out of there sockets but, i cannot constantly run at over 65mph or she dies, dropping to 3 pots then 2 then dies. That problem would seem to me to be the fuel pump as when i switch the ignition on and off say 10 times she starts and runs fine.
Has anyone had either of these problems and found a solution?

Any help would be gratefully received.Cheers.Chris-a- aka Grizzler

Introduction / Me?
« on: 04 May 2015, 04:44:44 pm »
Howdy peeps.

My name is Chris most people call me Grizzler.
I've been riding bikes for 32 years and still never actually owned a car. Vans and bikes but no cars. I try to carry out most of my own repairs when needed and i am in the process of learning to weld, plastic weld and spray with a compressor with some very mixed results but i'll get there, eventually ..lol.. I ride my fox eye FZS600 2003 and have a Suzuki gsx600f as a project.
Found this forum in the search for detailed info on the FZS600 and found exactly what i needed. So here i am a new member of the forum and looking forward to chatting to you soon.
