I doubt any manufacturer uses release agent any more, perhaps this will help explain it,

Bridgestone's official line is they dont use release agent and accidents are due slow speeds conering where there there is less load on the tyre so the trye not being forced into the tarmac, couple that with brand new smooth tyres = recipe for disaster, there is a thread on here from bridgestone about tyres from way back in 2010 but for some reason when I copy and paste it doesnt show up.

have you thought that the oil itself might be shaggged, oil gets hot and gets thinner-if its old it might not be lubricating like the bike was designed for.
£28.50 for oil and filter-decent brand name, maybe time for a oil change, although a pig to get the oil filter off without the right tools

are those carb rubbers ok? frankly they don't look there best and if your sucking more air than you should be that might be exasberating your problem, i'm not a mechanic but just a thought.

if I were you i'd be checking to see if the mirrors have the rubber support between the fairing and the fairing brackets, also you could get the front wheel rebalanced and check the front wheel bearings, other than that I wouldn't have the foggiest idea, best of luck

there from Guernsey

i'm also not keen on the genuine foxeye mirrors sticking out above the screen, now these are not genuine and there a slightly different shape to the originals, much sqaure'er just like the boxeye headlights, i'm proper happy with mine,

now just clear indicator lenses and black handle bars and it'l be almost perfect

I have just bought some from ebay 152130239199 they were up for £14.50 buy it now or best offer, I offered £10 and got myself a pair of brand new mirrors delivered fast and fit perfect, they are about 50mm wider than the original boxeye mirrors, and they don't 'stick up' like the foxeye mirrors do, pictures should help you. i'm well chuffed with mine :lol

to be honest i hadnt actually noticed the fog light part, i was utterlly intrigued that theres projector h4 bulbs out there, might be an easyer headlight upgrade was my thoughts, as Darrsi pointed out to me tho is that i would still need to make a 2nd h4 slot as currently only 1 headlight is h4

nice picture SIDEWINDER, i see your using the later model mirrors, these dont seem any wider to me so my question is have they improved the viewing angle from behind? from what ive seen it looks to me that although the mirrors have longer stems this extra width isthen taken away due to the mirrors pointing upwards more than the originals, are they much better?

« on: 12 July 2016, 06:17:52 pm »
For the front I recommend 20 weight oil as this makes the front rather stiff, then wind the rear shock up on its tightest setting, mines a 1999 and is just perfect for me, a little on the stiff side just the way I like it.😃

could it be low on engine oil? while that may sound daft-my brother couldnt get his car to start and that was cranking and cranking, turned out theres a safety device on the oil level so when low it wont start to stop you doing damage to the engine, just my 2 pence worth. hope you solve it

kill switch been accidently flicked on?
side stand switch not returning properly?

which of these would be the better headlight mod, there both HID projectors but with 1 kit you dont need to take the headlight apart to fit, anyone tried this method? and did it work well? all feed back much appreciated, sorry if i hi-jacked a post but I thought some might be screaming with yet another headlight post, thanks in advance

my opinion would be Michael Gove :eek

Mine looks the same as that picture, moves very smoothly but is stiff even without the cable attatched and off the bike

New clutch cable finally arrived today, ive fitted it an regreased the bearings in the left hand clutch housing, it seems the clutch housing is my issue as the spring is really strong, niw do yamaha do a softer spring for the left hand cable housing? Would it work if i stretched the spring in there thus requiring less force to pull the lever in with?
Thanks
