Due the fucking ULEZ zone kicking in on April 2019, I need to upgrade my 2005 FZS1000 for something that's Euro 3 compliant. So Continuing the tradition of buying and selling my fazer's with fellow foccer's I would like to start looking for a replacement fazer from this community before looking anywhere else.
The FZ1 need to be 2007 or newer, I live in south herts so would prefer a bike that close, but will travel for the right bike. [update] it occurred to me that someone on here might want to swap plus cash for thier FZ1.
My FZS1000 - (details in no particular order) - 2005, 36k, DPBMC blue in VGC for its age, (was originally purcghased from a fellow foccer from up in sheffield)
- Came with full ivans kit, so has more midrang punch than a stock bike and nice top- end power (last time is got dyno'd I believe it was touching 130bhp at the rear wheel.)
- Devilsyam, R6 shock - still as sharp as the day it was fitted.
- K-tech front springs and matching oil - as good as your going to get without changing the internals.
- AIS removed (or if I didnt I have the kit for it that will do with the bike)
- R&G frame, swingarm and fork sliders.
- Original Yam colour matched belleypan
- Colour matched hugger
- adjustable and bendable clutch and brake lever (they bend up in spill, so you have half a chance of being able to ride the bike afterwards)
- LED H4 headlight bulbs
- LED indicator, rear and instrument bulbs.
- Large Carbon Tank protector
- Oxford Heated gribs w/relay to isolate them when the ignition is off.
- Akropovic end can and link pipe.
- Braided hoses on the front only, kept original on rear to take the sharpness out of it.
- Meta M357 TV2 Alarm
- Blind spot mirror on r/h mirror.
- Brand new AGM battery (fitted a 09/03/19)
- Toolkit
- Brand new Avon 3D-XM's with less that 75 miles on (fitted 09/03/19)
- C&S kits only has 1-2k on, looks looks as new.
- Pads front and rear relatively new so have loads of meat left on them.
- Tappets where checked and Plugs, Oil & filter changed at around 30k, air filter at around 20k I think.
- Handlebar risers, give you a more sit up feel and better control and less hand ache.
- BikeIT mini indicators and spacers (inside which i put LED bulbs)
- Front fender extender.
- LED bikeviz spot lights - coming down the motorway with these and the LED headlights - people know I'm coming.
If I remember anything else that was fitted I will update the post.

they always seem really good value to me, helluva lotta bike for your money. They might not be the allrounder the early bike is, but they are a proper tool, even more so with a few mods. I loved mine but it didn't cut it two up for the missus like the early bikes do

Still looking..

Hah ,I've a 57 plate in the shed, bike works perfect, just the frame cracked, Theres a replacement frame with it, just got to swap them,i guess i will, find time one day..

I don't have anywhere to do a frame swap and if the frame has been cracked what else got effected, I will pass fella.

A cracked frame on the FZ1 does not necessarily mean a crash, some early FZ1 models suffered frame cracking near the weld on the rear of the frame near the seat. Most should have received replacement frames from Yamaha.

Again, I don't have anywhere to do do a frame swap, I live in a flat. If I were to do it, it would have to be outside and in the summer and done all in one go. And then there is the issue of getting the engine out of the old frame and into the new one - don't have a overhead lift or large & wide enough floor jack. And even if I did the road surface where the bikes are parked is far too rough and uneven to allow for the the use of either method.

Just a thought - it may help if you post up some pics of your Gen1.....may start some thoughts.

- LED headlight bulbs, instrument bulbs, indicator and rear light bulbs.
- changed the strap on the askro.
- R6 shock & KT front springs
I will do a full for sale version in due course.

I have updated the OP.

If you added a price you may be able to sell then add the cash......albeit you won't be able to carry on buying from fellow foccers. Just a thought.

albeit you won't be able to carry on buying from fellow foccers.
In dont follow..
-
I mean if you added a for sale price then you could go looking for an FZ1 with the extra cash you have to add to the swap.

Bump.

If you're selling your Gen 1 because of ULEZ, why not get a CoC from Yamaha for approx £60, as its Nox figure will comply. Dazza has already done this.

Mine is an import from Hawaii so despite it being currently being identical to a UK spec bike Yamaha will still not issue me a CoC due to bullshit technicality of it never being manufactured inside Europe.
And secondly AFAIK, Dazza is still fighting with TFL despite getting a CoC for his. Its just easier to upgrade to a newer bike.
-
what's CoC ?

what's CoC ?
certificate of conformity

You are wrong, I have confirmation from ULEZ both my 04 & 05 Gen1's are compliant

Er so Dazza isnt still fighting with TFL then? because that was the last I read he was doing...
And regarding yours, you paid your 2x £65 to yam UK, sent the CoC (for the people that asked is Certificate of Conformity), sent these to TFL and the wrote back saying your now exempt from the ULEZ charge..?
