All shells are in correctly and do have grooves so wouldn't be able to put themy in incorrectly

an old trick when need be has been to use jubilee clips
62mm bore x PIE = cornish pastie or (62 x 3.141592653589 = just short of 195mm  )
with a jubilee clip you dont mind wasting a couple of quid once done and they tend to come in packs of 2 at least
- im sure its a 62mm bore but im not pulling my engine to check

Thats actually a cracking idea  :thumbup

Thanks for the help chaps!

Cheers for the replies guys! Good to see that they can last maybe I was being to hard on it, or maybe the person before me had been. I bought it with 50k on it so will see what it's like after the rebuild. Will definitely look into the springs aswell!

Not sure if anyone else here has had a different experience to me but I bought my bike with some after market headers that don't have the balancing pipe across them and the bike runs like a dream.

Good luck with the studs!

I did think that but looking at the parts manual and they both use different parts so doubt it'll fit which is a shame. Anywhere else I could get a stronger spring?

Does the motor come of of the left or right side? It's being a proper pig

If I try to take it out of the right hand side the oil filter port doesn't have room

And the left side doesn't seem right

Haside to be the most difficult engine to remove

Hello there

Just wondering if the cards and airbox need to be removed to get the motor out?

For me it seems more about shift in hiGhana revs in first gear, sometimes it goes sometimes it doesn't

Ok guys so I've been lurking the forum a number ofor years and have rear some claiming their bikes have 80od thousand miles on with no gearbox issues.

So I'm wondering is there a way to prevent the gearbox going again ? My other bikes dont have the issue of missing 2nd gear. Which made me wonder about the factory pro shift star, I don't think they make one for the fzs but would replacing the spring wit has a new oe help?

Any info would be much appreciated

Hi all new to the forum

Had the fazer for a while now though it's been sitting unused as the gearbox gave up about 9 months ago so yesterday I started pulling it apart.

Anyway I'm sure there is a bunch of stuff I could learn from you guys, might also do a video of the tear down

Cheers
