neither. just ginger.  :lol

At first I thought she was walking through an actual mine field (some ISIS video), expecting to see a leg blown off at some point... (then read the Description - its only fireworks  :b ).

That Blue tyre reminds me of a guy on youtube who was demonstrating a new Tyre paint. But it isn't to paint lettering on the side of the tyre, you actually DO paint the centre of the wheel. Then ride down the road, the paint rubs off the surface, but you are left with a painted tyre tread pattern.

Not cool. :rolleyes :foc  (also dangerous, as water wont be channelled away properly through the tread).

The LED lights I bought include the cooling fan but fit into the grommet perfectly, no need to cut anything and I can switch back easily.

I bought them from perfLED...think it's a French company

Sounds great. Perhaps FOC-U could setup a group buy on a set if there's sufficient interest?  :)

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Single Seat conversion

Hi fazersharp - many thanks for posting the pictures! I really like that!  8) :D
It's got that characteristic tail hump shape of Sports bikes, while reducing the profile of the LONG Fazer seat.

Looks decent in those pictures, perhaps not so great in the flesh (as you say).

So that is a cowl that is covering the complete original Fazer rear fairing? - couldn't see any "joins" from that and the original, in your photos.
If you could point me at the (ebay) seller, I might be interested. :thumbup

Most of the LED headlight bulbs (H4) have a heatsink WITH cooling fan integrated!
However some brands don't have the cooling fan, just the heatsink at the rear (so better from a functional perspective).

People who have done this conversion had to cut the hole in the centre of the rubber grommet that sits behind the headlight unit, so it's a slightly larger hole. The grommet then seals around the neck of the H4 LED bulb, behind where it fits into the headlight on the metal tabs, with the heatsink behind the rubber grommet in the open air / so getting an air flow for cooling.

Welcome! You must have that butchered Fazer looking like a new bike by now?  :D

Would be interested to see how it turned out :thumbup - please post some build threads in the relevant FZS600 section?

Great advice BBROWN1664, an excellent option for those with the standard Fazer / front fairing.
I did find that extra wire in situ routed from under the tank - perhaps the previous owner was a member here and completed this Mod.

My Fazer no longer has the front fairing, plus is running an USD Fork conversion, with single (larger) headlight.
Hence only have one H4 bulb to play with. Think I'll do something like Bracechenko v2  8) as there is no comparison in light output between the Halogen vs LED. Clarity too. Plus LED bulbs (for automobile use) have come a long way. :thumbup

it was the one thing that stopped me from doing the single seat swap on mine - did it on the really old fz600 though as it had a removable subframe so i just bought a spare off ebay and sliced that up and added a few connectors so i could swap between the two as and when i needed two seats - hmm theres an idea - plug weld some bolt on points so you have the worlds first removable subframe fzs  :lol

Hey Disorderlypunk  :thumbup Hows the youtube channel?
I was commenting on a lot of your early videos, but didn't want to appear to be spamming your channel, so stopped. :lol

Yes this is the "limitation" of these early fazers, no separate rear subframe. 1 big welded frame - which does look clean though.
"worlds first removable subframe fzs" - would be a FOC-U first too. ;)

I took my bike infact to a custom motorcycle fabricator, who commented it would ruin a perfectly decent bike, cutting off the seat tubing to weld on a new rear end. Plus he'd not be able to match the paint either, so might be a noticeable colour difference.

If I was ever to go down that path, will put up a build progress thread here.  :thumbup

Silver boxeye coming in the opposite direction, I panicked and half waved and half punched the air, I think he thought I was waving my fist at him.

No - more likely the ABBA music that you had blasting out fazed him. :lol

While working Shepperton Lock and old style red Fazer arrived and I gave the rider "the Foccer salute"

He looked at me like I was mad.

Apparently not a member.

How does 'the foccer salute' work?  :lol  I've been on here quite a long time but didn't know about this customary tradition.

This didn't work?

Or at least, looks blank in my browser, with a big empty space, where the video window should appear. Not embedded.

being heard by other motorists (plus pedestrians) is safer for all
When I am in my car listening to Abba turned up to number 11 I can not hear you from behind me.

That's ok you wont hear me, but when you start to feel the rumble, you'll know I'm there.  8) :lol

:)  Sensitive neighbours!
Yep coming up for mot soon so will get carbs done then, newish filter in but next time for k & n

I've got a 230mm aftermarket exhaust on my Fazer. As long as the removable baffle is fitted in, MOT will be fine.

Plus then I take mine out as soon as I get home - being heard by other motorists (plus pedestrians) is safer for all - plus I don't get on with my neighbours anyway, so FCUK them!!  :rolleyes :D

Will also add LED emits a pure light, superior to those cheap Chinese HID kits, that would blind all oncoming vehicles with the garish blue/white light, popular with the 2fast2furious (boy racer) fraternity.  :D :2guns

General / Halogen headlight switch to LED
« on: 12 November 2019, 09:59:40 am »
Hello all,

There appears to be a significant movement switching the conventional Halogen headlight bulb for an LED alternative.
Anyone here experimented with this, or can confirm how this flies with the friendly MOT tester.  :thumbup  :thumbdown

Wouldn't the headlight reflector maintain the correct beam direction, even if the light emitted from the LED "bulb" is significantly brighter?

However based solely on the aim (no pun intended) of being noticed by other road users, brighter is better!?
Will also confirm the majority I saw who did this swap were based in the States, MT07 / MT09's (youtube).

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Single Seat conversion
« on: 11 November 2019, 10:23:43 am »
Thanks fazersharp. Suppose the Fazer isn't an aspiring Sports bike, hence the lack of options from this respect.

Taking this to the extreme, a Tail swap might be considered, but wouldn't want to ruin a perfectly decent bike, by chopping up the frame. :stop

I had one but did not like it. Wasn't like the one posted - that looks good. It was one that incorporated the grab rail holes and was attached using them. The whole thing made the bike back end look fat and it looked like an extra attached to the bike (which it was). I brought it on ebay and sold it on within a week.I would give up looking if I were you as that one posted is defiantly more sporty than the one I had.

Thanks for the feedback. Wasn't expecting there to be much out there, however that is an interesting alternative.  ^
Looks to keep the depth of the original 'double' seat, assume for comfort plus retain familiarity with the original item.

This actually makes the bike look more retro plus aged. Taking the cosmetics of the bike in the opposite direction to how I want it to look.
Was looking for something more Sporty, like a more modern Sports bike single seat fairing.

Might look into the leather seat covers that are readily available, to add a little more style. :)

Nice find though.  :thumbup

Was a single seat conversion ever made for the FZS Fazers? More likely as an aftermarket part (including rear fairing)?

Don't use Facebook, so am dependant on this site for my FOC-U fix! :D

The error I saw looked like a server / service provider error. Perhaps someone didn't pay the FOCCING bill !? :)

Sounds like your multi-rotor craft BBROWN1664 would likely be under the 250g threshold?
Plus nothing stopping you from flying it indoors, then the CAA regulations do not apply.
Agreed, anyone planning to fly a "Drone" for 'illegal' purposes, wont consider registering their craft in advance.

"Drones" being used by terrorists is an interesting debate. Perhaps thoughts of military drones come to mind - mini aircraft - Predator / Reaper?
Personally I cant see multi-rotor craft being used for such purposes. Especially these mass produced electric powered multi-rotor craft. They cant lift a heavy payload that would have enough mass to cause multiple casualties (such as explosive material).

I love THOSE "Drones" celticdog, especially in MY garden! Infact I'd welcome more. :lol
Plus I'm sure they are not trying to snoop on the Mrs through the bathroom window, while taking a shower! ;)
