Mine's much better than that even with the 40,000 miles it's done. Also note it's located in "Winbledon"!  I smell a rat (bike!)  :rolleyes

Chap on Ebay recons his low mileage (35,000?) has ABS fitted http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330912460071?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Looks a bit iffy to me but I could be wrong...

The trickle charge lead would have been added by a previous owner, it's not part of the standard wiring.
I think the black plug is to do with connecting the indicators to the alarm but I might be talking through my posterior! Try disconnecting it and see if the indicators still work.

Found mine was loose at 28000 miles though it had never been touched apart from cleaning. Treated the bike to a new chain / sprockets and had the dealer fit the new nut. Still fine at 40K...

I've got one that got scratched in a low speed tumble but is fully usable. £10 plus postage. Let me know if interested but also consider you can get a new one for about £70

I live in Caerleon and while I'm not keen on taking any bits off my 600 (which has never missed a beat so far) I'm quite handy at testing electrics and have some spare plug caps you could try!

If it's just the porcelain bit broken off I'd try soaking the plug body with releasing oil before taking the head off....
