I've had the same problem Red. First couple of times I put it down to having used pattern seals. Last time around i ordered Yamaha seals. Thus far they've been fine, done probably 300 miles or more, some of them on a track day. noticed yesterday that the same seal is now, once again, causing a slight misting on the stanchion.
Probably going to have to get the forks re finished over the winter. 😔

Hi skidt.....yep.i used pattern ones as well, used the same make seals in my 600 and thou at roughly the same time, no problems with the 600, if I dont get any fork offers on here I'll do the same as you and fit yammy ones, cant see any obvious damage/wear to the stanchions so it might solve my problem.....cheers for your reply   :thumbup

I have a set, wasn't thinking of selling them but you never know if the price is right.

How did you get on Red with the new Yamaha fork seals?
Unfortunately, after my trip down to Devon and back to have Mike work his "Full Monty" magic on mine, the newly replaced fork seal was pi**ing out and dribbling down the back of the fork leg.
Fazer now off the road until I can get the forks refinished. 😔

Hi skidt....sorry I should have updated......got some yammy seals and slightly thicker fork oil, fitted a couple of weeks ago and done approx 300 miles with no problems, thicker oil is a great upgrade, got an R6 shock on the back and seams to work well together  :thumbup....off out shortly and expect to do 250 milds today.....fingers crossed all will be good.

Yammy seals were a better more precise fit than the pattern ones and they do have a raisdd lip on the top for more seal area, think I paid £5/6 for pattern and £12 for yammy......definitely worth paying the extra....see how things go today

Thanks for the update Red. Fingers crossed that they hold out for you. Wish mine had.  :(  Bit gutted about mine really. Can't see any obvious damage to the sliders to be causing the seal to fail.
Could be out enjoying Mike's magic. 😔

Morning skidt, pushing 500 miles now, lots of bumpy roads yesterday and still all good, my sliders look all good aswell just one small blemish which I smoothed over with a sharp blade......time will tell
