FZS600 - registered 17/06/99

My wife's bike, bought in 2006.  Not been used at all much in last few years.
MOT history back to 2004, MOT'd a few weeks ago - no advisories.
Owners manual and service booklet, however all our servicing done by me.
Standard bike with the exception of FUEL silencer, screen, scottoiler, back rack and top box (42l)
It's an excellent bike, never failed to start and runs like a dream.
Chain and sprockets are good as are the tyres. Motobatt battery.
Still on the original downpipes and showing their age. Paint flaking of the front of the engine.  The fuel gauge is inaccurate at times.
There are a few minor scratches on the tank.£850

Hi,

Any chance someone could post a pic of the correct cable routing for the speedo pick-up please?

Cheers

Unbranded touring screen, 14.5 inches tall, smoke grey and MRA X-creen Sport deflector.  The X-creen is boxed with instructions and all the fittings.  Both are like new and have had very little use - £70 posted.

Some of you may remember this bike came up for sale in Glasgow last year, courtesy of big bluebear on behalf of his neighbour who had it from new.  I managed to secure the bike, but only after paying a bit more than the advertised price(!), and have done 1200 miles or so since then.  Long story short, I do quite a lot of long distance commuting and had hoped the bike would fit the bill, however it's lack of protection (even with an aftermarket screen) means it doesn't.  So, reluctantly, it's up for sale with an asking price of £3550.  Relevant details are as follows:

2004 "54" plate
Storm Silver, black engine/frame/swinging arm
2 owners from new
3929 miles (bike not in use so mileage won't change)
Datatagged
Yamaha OE crash bungs
Ivan's slip-on carb modification
Puig hugger (brand new)
Otherwise standard
2 keys, owners manual, service handbook and datatag bumf present
EXUP valve overhauled and Avon Storm STs fitted on purchase @ 2781 miles
Engine service and carbs balanced @ 3200 miles
MOT due 22 Jul 16

As you can see from the pictures the bike is in outstanding condition.  The previous owner must have had shares in Waxoyl as most metal parts have had a coating at some time or other so it's been well preserved!  The bike is in Pembrokeshire, South West Wales.

If anyone is interested please PM me with your contact details and thanks for looking.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me which manufacturer makes the best quality/fitting rear hugger - Puig/Skidmarx/Pyramid, etc? I'm after a black one.

Thanks

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Insecure Inlet Stub Spigot
« on: 29 August 2015, 05:31:22 pm »
I've just carried out the Ivan's slip-on modification to my 2004 bike and all went well; the only hold-ups being whilst I tracked down a decent pin vice and then a T20 torx security bit to adjust the throttle position sensor.

However (there's always a however), the AIS vacuum hose connected to No. 4 inlet stub spigot didn't want to budge and in the process of removal, the inlet stub itself partially withdrew from the inlet stub.  It was clearly stuck in with something so does anyone have a advice on a suitable adhesive?  It's not the tightest of fits so definitely needs some sealant/adhesive.

Also I wondered if it's normal to need to adjust the TPS post mod?

Oh and I now have a decent pin vice and homemade plastic guide for checking the float heights (well worth the effort) if anyone in the parish (Pembrokeshire) is thinking of doing a DIY Ivan's.

BTW many thanks to Mike and Pat for their excellent instructions.
