If you take wires from one of the existing 3 pin connectors you will have hi/low

If you have an FZS600, do the dual headlight mod then just use the right hand bulb connector for your single light.

Thanks guys!
All lights working now, just need to replace the big ugly speedometer and change the headlight to a new one.
But that´s next winter project so this will be my ride this summer.
Looking for a new exhaust, so that will be fitted during summer.

Also need to clean up my garage :-)

Hi kimkt! Im also doing this!
1: How did you do it? Did you do the dual headlight mod first? I'v seen people talk about using a male H4 connector. But i cant find them in any store.
2: Do you have a solution for the speedo? What did you mount it on?

its a female H4 connector you need. Cut off the one from the right hand side and replace it with another from Halfords or a breakers yard car that has all three connections in there already.

This might be a stupid question but i really have no clue.

If i buy a new H4 female connector. I still doesn't have a male to connect it too? What am i missing. Do you just plug the cables from the lamp into the new h4 connector with Cable shoes?

On the original headlight the bulbs are the "male connectors".

If my any chance you need to extend the "male connector" cables or route it somewhere you need something like this. (Minus the red wire coming out)

speedo replacement advice ---
if you see the cheap chinese copy of the koso clocks steer clear - i have one and it looks ok and speedo works
but rev counter is a bit slow and the fuel guage wont work i have full and one bar less than full
go the extra mile and buy the proper koso it will last longer comes with better instalation instructions and has all the settings you will ever need
the wiring is actually fairly simple once your in there just have a good look at the wiring diagram for a 12v that goes into the clocks then feeds down to the speedo sensor make sure that wire down has 12v feed to it to get it to work
you could use the magnet sensor instead but oem sensor must remain for the ecu to operate correctly so just encorperate the oem into aftermarket speedo

:agree

I would just cut off the original plug and connect in a new one with the three wires on it.

So ill take my chords. Hi beam, low beam, and two chords of Earth and twist em, And put them into a connector. Then ill buy a new H4 light with a male connector. I may open the headlight first, but im worried there wasn't a H4 included. Why would it have all these loose chords. Thanks for your pedagogical pictures :)

WTF?
You haven't even opend up the headlight?

You have 5 wires in that photo.

sidelight +ve and -ve - this will go to a bulb holder
Headlight dipped, main and earth. - This will go to the connector that goes onto the back of the bulb which may not be an H4. Doesn't matter though. Just cut off your existing H4 plus and connect the wires directly to the loose wires you have coming out of the back of your pod in the photo.

No feccing about needed.

Hi! I did the headlight conversion first, easy peasy. Reused an old connector i had, now everything work great :-)
The bracket for the speedo is made out of some 3mm aluminium sheet, made some templates on cardboard first and cutted the aluminium with an hacksaw.

The speedo is so big and bulky so it looks kinda misplaced on a naked bike, but i´m looking for a new smaller one maybe from another yamaha ex. wrx 125.

Anyone know if there is a plug and play speedo that will fit the fazer?

If you do need a male H4 connector simply type Male H4 connector into Google shopping, there are hundreds of them on Ebay.

What kind of ECU issues? The Yamaha front wheel magnet sensor isn't connected on my bike now, however the Bike still (appears to) run perfectly.

I added a genuine KOSO Digital Speedo. The KOSO Speed sensor lead (3 wires) that comes out of its wiring loom end at a Plug. You are then supposed to use KOSO's own magnet sensor, suitably positioned. Theirs however operate on 5V, and a 12V supply would likely fry the speedo (as per the original sensor).

Discussing this with KOSO they were reluctant to offer a solution (KOSO Speedo unit> to >original Speedo sensor) and strongly suggested only to use their Speed sensor accessory, or I could invalidate the warranty on the Speedo unit purchased.

Hi Kimkt,

I'm about to do this to my Fazer, please could you provide a link to the headlight you used?
