Off to the tip at the weekend - just checking that the old shock of the Gen 2 can't be rebuilt? The spring on it is grey/silver while the 2nd hand replacement I put on the bike about 2 years ago is yellow and a bit harder.
Looking in manual I didn't see any spring rate/color charts - any ideas?
Many thanks

The standard shock has a silver spring. As far as I'm aware the spring can be replaced on the standard shock, I just don't think they can be stripped and re-gassed like an aftermarket one

Great - thank you, off to the tip then after removing the spring.
Cheers!

You should be able to rebuild/regas the standard shock. I have done it to the std Gen 1 shock, its not a problem. Any suspension place would be able to do it really.

If you give All Bike Engineering a call on 0208 8589052, they'll tell you straight away if it's rebuildable or not.

Thanks for the guidance - all sorted now
