Hi all. Been a while since I sold my Fz1, still got the Tiger sport and have had a second bike for a while. Currently it's an SV1000n but I can't get on with it... I have been offered a deal on a 99 cat, had the gearbox rebuilt recently, Dyno jet carbs progressive springs and R6shock. 22k miles 2 owners... Also looking at a 99 box eye, I have had one so I know I will get on with it. Anyway my question to you guys as I know in the past many of you have had or at least ridden cats is what are they like to ride. Pegs too far back will be an issue for my knee, long reach to clip on bars? I don't expect it to be super comfy but don't want a bent over sports feel... The bike in question is too far away just to go for a look, Thought I would try you guys for some info Cheers.

Hi Was going to trade this in and will if I don't sell private so offering here. 57 plate, 22k miles with fresh oil around every 3k miles. Great looking bike but not mint, nothing major to mention just general wear and the odd mark. Some nice extras including Power commander 5 Akropovic exhaust piper x filter and air box mod. De cat smaller flies, very recent steering damper at £350... carbon tail and few other bits, nearly new pilot 3 tyres and chain and sprockets. White seat has been recovered in black, original two seats still available pillion pegs also available to buyer. Runs great as expected £3200, I think that's cheap but taking miles into consideration... I have spent a lot on this bike in the two years I have owned it! I can send more pictures and can be viewed in Harlow.

Noticed this today when sat in traffic, not just making a buzzing noise but causing the bars to vibrate.... As soon as I let off the brake lever it stops .... Anyone had this? Also got a fairly bad front end wobble at 110+mph (on track) that I have been trying to diagnose so I know the discs calipers etc are all tight, this is probably down to the 10k miles I have put on the pr3 tyres, mostly motorway so a bit squared off. Shame as there is loads of tread left. It's only Google telling me this, I'm no expert Cheers.

Well happy with the seat considering the price, very good quality and although I was not sure about a white seat I quite like it The seat cowl came direct from Ermax, was worried about the colour match as the bike was painted in 2012 and I had no idea what paint they used.... it is actually close enough to presume they used the yam pearl white oh and they even popped a free T-shirt in the box

As above, under a year old and only used once recently for a 3.5k Europe tour. Wont use again so moving on or will ad to the rest of my stored goodies Its a bit dusty from the trip but will clean up if anyone interested. I also fitted the original Givi stop light kit. Sorry but i cant and wont post these so pick up only from Harlow or Cambridge. £170 bargain but it is pick up so got to be worth the trip.. Oxford side bags too if anyone wants them, a little grubby now but 100% usable, again pick up only £20.

Hi guys. Two of us heading off in June covering around 3.5k miles. Bikes are gen 1 & 2 Fazer 1000, both have just been treated to new chain and sprockets and a good check over whilst in the local Yamaha dealer for the work. They are in good health and will have fresh oil and filter before we head off. So far for my gen 2 I have spare levers, 2 coil sticks, clutch cable gaffer tape and various size zip ties For the gen 1 so far I think he has levers and cables. We have puncture repair sorted, spare bulbs and fuses, chain lube stupid stickers for helmets when in France... good selection of hand tools. ... So what else should I be taking or things to do before we go. Countries being covered France Belgium Germany, Austria Hungary Slovakia Switzerland Netherlands and Italy... think that's it Thoughts and or comments

Fitted a new battery to my Z1, I charged it before but did not need it. Anyway it only showed 12.3v when I connected it and after a few days is down to 12.1.... I have tested for a drain and there is nothing, tried a different meter and it shows the same. There is no problem starting the bike and the battery was showing healthy on the charger. Concerned that I will end up killing this new battery or is it normal for it to rest that low (I think not....) Confused

Evening! I have been checking the volts on my battery since it died after sitting for 4 weeks or so... All seems ok, holding high 12v and drops to 10.9 on cranking. I checked what was going in and it's 15.1 on tick over, no real rise at 3k rpm..... The bike was stone cold and only left running for around 30 seconds. The quick search I have done suggests this is too hi but should I have left the bike running a while to test fully or will that make no difference. I will check again tomorrow, not going back out now

Evening So just put my battery back in after it was left for 4 weeks (forgot to connect charger...) and it died... All ok now I think but have noticed the flashing red light next to the key symbol on the dash. Don't think I ever saw it flashing before. .... Maybe it always did So do they always flash with the ignition off? Cheers.

I got this new a month or so ago but my plans have changed, the covers are as new and only the rider seat has been used for around an hour. The pillion seat base does not fit my N so I guess it's for the S?? See pics. I took the cover off the rear seat and was going to fit it to mine but never bothered after deciding to sell on, I have re fitted and it's a good job but the staples don't look as well done as they did you can't tell though from the top!stitching and piping is silver. Price is £140 + £15 postage, would prefer collection as it would take me a few days to sort courier but can do if needed. Can take PayPal if payment sent as gift. If no interest I will tuck it away with everything else I buy for the bike and end up not using

Sooooo I got a stand from a breakers on ebay, offered it up to the bike and there is nothing to mount it to on the rear brake pedal side? Has anyone got a picture showing that side mounted or aware of what it is I am missing? Cheers.

So I bit the bullet and got a new Sargent seat for my FZ1, totaled 7 hrs riding today and could not wait to get off the bike It is easily just as uncomfortable as the standard seat so will hopefully be returning for a full refund. Gutted as most reviews I read were very good, no breaking in needed... Apparently great from the off.... Anyone else tried one, thoughts?

Ok so ticking I had a few months ago garage advised was worn cam chain tensioner and to change it for a manual one. Ok. They changed it for me but to be honest the ticking never stopped. .... It's irritating me again, very noticeable around town riding, clearly coming from the tensioner area... Anyone else changed the tensioner and still get the ticking?? Cheers.
