Thanks Val & Exupnut. I'll be changing cans after the winter, quite keen on a Coffman shorty but haven't yet made a final decision.

Hi, and thanks again for the info.
So basically it is just a bit more responsive?   ... that sounds like a good thing to me. Not sure how it would fit in with my heated grips though. I appreciate the offer pal so let me check if that will work and I'll get back to you.  :)

Hi Smurfbud,
Thanks for the info bud.. I am not keen on the high can setup and I am unfamiliar with the Mivv Suono system, perhaps send me an image and idea of the price on the carbon one. Cheers.

Hi all.
I joined the group about a month ago and enjoying the interaction so far. Looking forward to summer and hopefully some events where we can put faces to the names. If there are any upcoming Rides in the Kent / London area I'd appreciate a heads up. Cheers.

Fazer8 / FZ8 / R6 throttle tube on FZ8
« on: 06 December 2015, 05:14:20 am »
Hi guys
I've recently seen a few vlogs from FZ8 owners stateside who have fitted R6 throttle tubes to their FZ8's and they say it transforms the bike with much greater throttle response and better power delivery characteristics..... was just wondering if anyone here has tried it or has thoughts on the matter?
Cheers.

Aah, you beat me to it Igeese... I was considering that system Andy was offering. Akrapovic are a quality make and that was a great deal. I'm glad you are happy with it. I snooze I lose I guess.

I find my FZ8 is quite comfy and don't like the look of the aftermarket seats. ..what I have done in the past is buy a pair of cycling shorts to wear under my kit, the ones with built in padding. It can feel a little odd when you are walking around but it isn't visible, is a cheap alternative and it adds a bit of extra comfort when you are in the saddle for the longer rides.

Thanks for the response. You have a nice set of bikes there, and they look great side by side like that.

Hi Andy and thanks for your honest feedback. I'll also look into the can you suggested but was thinking along the lines of an Akrapovic, Yoshi R77d or the Hurric Pro2. Fortunately I have time to decide over the winter. Tbh the gold crash bungs came with the bike, while don't think it looks terrible I may change them to something a little less conspicuous.  :)

Love that anniversary colour scheme..  very nostalgic but  jeeps up with the times too. Now that it's been a while, I'd also like to know which one you prefer riding...?

I am a proud new FZ8 owner and I am loving my bike...I have since got a few little extras here and there... would love your thoughts on the aftermarket parts compared to keeping it stock standard. (Note; I'm not sure about the flyscreen and may change it... also I will be fitting a new pipe and end can next year before summer).

I looked at a few of the pipes mentioned... but I've narrowed my options down to three pipes... each have their own distinct appeal.
Yoshi R77D  - carbon
Hurric Pro2 - black
Shorty Short MotoGP pipe - black - concerned about legality regarding DB's on this one.

Anyone have any of these on their bike or know anything about them?  Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers.

I have the Pilot 2's and they seem quite good too. Nice and planted in the dry and good feedback in the wet.

Hi
I am a new member and have recently become the proud owner of a 2012 FZ8. I have been wanting one for ages and would like to add a few things to the bike to make it my own so to speak. First thing I want to change is the standard can... any suggestions on what works best with this bike? I've read a few blogs that say some cans can even reduce HP... (bike is black).
Cheers in advance for any advice.
