Mick's hit the nail on the head.
The link to the post is in PieEater's excellent wee "All about the thou" post, aim has always been not to go the way of Yuku and have a million sticky threads and I'm of a "three and out" mentality, we had hit three so I started trimming.
If you want to start a new one in For Sale & Wanted I'll happily pin it there for you.

I'll have a think on it buddy, but when we transferred from the previous site we made the decision to keep stickies to a minimum and streamline the site as much as we could, hence a few things becoming articles and such.

We used to have a dedicated subforum for such things, but just before the switch I think it had been pushing a year (if not longer) since anyone had actively posted in it.

Cheers,
Aegis

The forum software had an update due, I've installed the newest patch so hopefully it's sorted out any issues.

Happy New Year to you foccin' bunch from down here in Kiwiland.

 :kiss

Here's to 2016 being everything you guys want and more!
Having ridden my bike a meagre 5 times since she arrived here, I'm planning on putting a shit load of miles on her this year.
Hope you guys do likewise and there are plenty of Foc-U meets and shenanigans to keep us all amused.

Love 'n hugs,
Aegis

If you're looking to make it an overnighter we've had some really good experiences with this mob here.
Central to all the really good roads, especially the Kinlochleven TT.

Sadly I won't be attending, a little too far to ride, even for me.

The thinking behind not having them is that the old forum had them, and they were posted in about once every decade or three, so we went for the slimline approach when setting up this incarnation of the board.
If you have a wee look at the "articles" tab up top you should find a whole range of those type of things.
:D

It means either that you'e clicked on the font size menu above the reply box or you've been playing with brackets and the forum thinks you're using bbcode to alter the size of the font.

Or the font faeries have taken umbrage at your posts, that could be a possibility too...
 ;)

Downey, not sure how you managed it, but the site seemed to go in a huff when you used the :useless smiley.

Bizarre.

For whatever reason it was in a huff at the "this thread is useless..." emoticon, I've deleted it and all seems to be good now.
Foccin' weird...

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Radiator fitting snapped as I'm a twat
« on: 27 June 2015, 07:35:47 am »
Right, I'm officially the unluckiest and clumsiest foccer in the world.

Riding 'Bee to work, heated grip comes away from the throttle tube so she becomes unrideable.
Park up, get a lift to work and head back to pick her up that night on the back of my ute.
Turns out I forgot to turn off the ignition so her battery is flat as an anorexic's chest.

After this I couldn't be arsed unloading her at night, so left it until the morning.

Unloading her from the bed of the ute and one ramp slips off as I hadn't tied the ramps properly.
Half way down, the second ramp slips off and my lovely, shiny bike bounces off the ramp, off the back of the ute and ends up front wheel on the tailgate with the back on the driveway.

After the coolant tsunami had abated, I pushed her into the carport and headed to work.

When I checked the radiator core seems sound, but the coolant intake pipe on the bottom right of the radiator (as you sit on the bike) has come away from the radiator half way around, the other half is still attached.

My plan is to braze/solder it with these wee fellas and a wee blow torch, anyone have any experience with soldering radiators?

Any hints/tips/do's or dont's to be aware of?

If I were still in Glasgow this is an easy one, Kinlochleven.
If I were in London, this is an easy one, Kinlochleven.
If I were in the Northern Hemisphere, this is an easy one, Kinlochleven.
Spotting a pattern here yet?

Need to find a suitable Kiwi alternative as soon as I can I reckon.

It's been a long wait, between finances, fettling and foc ups by the shipping company, but at long lost 'Bee has cleared customs and sailed through :groan the registration inspection here in Kiwiland.

First wee shakedown run last night, man I'm rustier than she was when Nooj got her.
 :o

Still, grin has been splitting my face ever since even though we did only go into Auckland city and back, but man I've missed my bike.
Saturday will be spent making her road (il)legal again, swapping out the standard can for the Micron one again, checking the power commander, refitting the hand guards and led rear light...
 :D

Longest I've been off her up until now was 4 weeks due to ripped ankle ligaments, even then it was only the right ankle so didn't really need to use it much, but this has been killer.

I'll get some photos of her in front of a decent Kiwi landscape in the next week or so, but I fear I may need a new lid as my smile is likely to crack mine form the inside.

If anyone is looking for me, I'll be out on my bike.
