Harsh ride all of a sudden ?!
« on: 06 October 2016, 05:17:32 pm »
As title says.. Last couple of days I've noticed a lumpy bumpy ride ? Tyres look ok, not entirely sure about the shock and forks, and if I'm honest I'm not entirely sure how to check those ?

Are your tyre pressures around normal or possible slow puncture?
Rear shock - is it the original unit? Any signs of it leaking fluid / wet around the central shaft?
Front forks - any signs of blown seals / oil leaking out ?

I will have a look, I thought I might have a slow puncture on the front as it was low in comparison to the rear Last week, il check tonite, no leaking from what I can see. I wish I knew more about mechanics tbh!

With it off the centre stand, try bouncing the rear up and down by hand (you might want someone to hold the bars while you do this).
If it doesn't move or only does so with strange creaking noises, the suspension linkage bearings are corroded solid.

:agree

Sounds like a suspension related problem. I would go with the linkages etc first though. Leaking forks/shock would give a more bouncy ride rather than a firmer ride.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again
