Fitting a box to a FZS1000
« on: 14 May 2013, 08:44:05 pm »
Hi all, I want to fit my Givi monolock top box to my bike, I have the plate but was wondering what my options are for fitting the plate to the bike, I am understanding that I will need a rack of some sort to fit the plate to.

All advise will be appreciated.

Loz the givi rails would be a good start. Is it the M5 plate?
I just fitted the givi to the bike tonight.....

I fitted a monolock top box to a Renntec rack.  It's been 2 years of daily use and no problems.  I did cut (hacksaw) off the grab rail from the renntec rack to give me a better purchase and to let me mount the plate further back.  This setup runs well and as the renntec rack is held onto the fazer with two bolts per side it spreads the load and is a fairly robust solution.

I posted some photos of this setup a while back.  I'll try and find the post.

I have a spare givi rack, the one that takes side rails .
Yours for £35 if any use.
