Fazer8 / FZ8 / Re: Starter Solenoid compatibility
« on: 27 January 2020, 08:02:20 pm »
Still been having  intermittent non start problems .
The ignition would come on but starter would not spin when button pressed.
It turned out the wiring and connectors to the solenoid had been burning.
Yamaha made up a little loom and new connections.

I converted mine last night .
I used a kit from a guy on eBay .
It looks a very professional job .
It uses the empty plug slots under the airbox and back of the bulb.
Fazer FZ8.

In the report on the radio this morning I was shocked to hear how many other similar incidents there have been involving US personnel in this type of accident in the UK .

I believe the connector I need is under the air box so this and the tank will have to come off ?

The dealer can't get the data tool to hold programme on the data tool .
I've ordered a Glpro which gets much better reviews and is a more up to date design with some extra features.
What quick shift did you fit ?

Le TWe

Le Touquet  2020 .The biggest beach race in the world.Held over 3 days at the end of January every year in the up market coastal resort of Le Touquet. Its about an hours ride down the D940 coast road from Calais .
We  normally stop for a coffee on the way down and have some lunch in Le Touquet.

We have been going out for the last 10 years on the final Sunday. This year it will be the 2nd of February. We have booked the 7.20 euro tunnel going out and the 18.20 return.£15 each way .If any of you want to join us just book your train .If you have to return at another time no problem. We are meeting at the terminal  no latter than 6.30am
They shut the town to cars so the bikes can ride in .Over 200,000 spectators over the 3 days .The top off road racers going for it on the Sunday completely bonkers .They have race whatever the weather.John

The best thing about the quick shifter on My BMW K1300S (with Scorpion end can) is the Noise you get when accelerating flat out and shifting up .You cant get the same effect doing clutch less changes .
52,000 miles with no problem from the up only quick shifter.
The gearbox is a bit clunky but ok .

The GT air 2 seems a popular choice.
Got some  Rokker revoloutions , Halvarssons clives and Sidi Vertigos for Christmas.
Also bought a Dainese leather jacket for when it gets a bit warmer .
