if that clock set has not got a speedo healer on it, and only a sticker on it that could be removed I may be interested in them.
I'm emigrating next November to Australia and they use kph rather than mph and I'm taking my bike.
what year is the bike too as mines a 2002 model with the late clocks.  ta.

check under the plastics in the scuttle area, vw and audis drain holes get blocked with leaves a shite... this the fills up and can do strange things with the electrics... sounds like a ECU fault and if that's going wonky it could stop it showing codes , and also expensive.... get it on a VAG COM reader.. independent vw audi place wont charge the earth to read the codes.

spent the last 8 years chasing 558 around the country... did the VIP tour around her in march.. have thouseands of photos and video.... best bit of this year was RIAT... stood right under the flight line when she and the reds past right over my head.

I had the Vulcan effect when I did the tour... a tear in the eye when she did the final flight southern tour over Bicester and when I went round the hanger.

General / Re: Heating/Plumbing question
« on: 18 November 2015, 05:39:10 pm »
I get asked this all the time....my answer... don't be a tight arse.. leave the room stat at 18 and let you heating come on at its normal times... the gas use is less than the heart ache of coming home to find you rads have ballooned and thrown themselves off the walls and you home has a sprinkler system that you didn't know you had.

ive seen all this happen when we have a cold spell and people have taken mates advice.... after 31years of being a heating engineer, ive seen a lot....and will proberbley see a few more sights before  I pop off...

My fzs600 came to me with a whole file of history for every little thing it has ever had, the bike was a bit rough to look at, but it was an honest bike that mostly all ive had to do is clean. It came with 67k on it and now has 73k showing... the only expense other than servicing has been replacing the fairing, it goes ver well... doesnt smoke or use oil... not coolant loss, and the rear brake works as it should too :lol

ive owned it coming up for 2 years in the new year and think its a cracking bike that does what it says on the tin.... so much so that I will be taking it to Australia with me when we emigrate at the end of 2016  8)

For 185 quid, I would have chucked a new fairing on it.

Amazingly (!), there's also a four page feature in Practical Sportsbikes this month.
Could this all be just an amazing coincidence or are these bike journos getting lazier?

I think the journos ar getting lazy or they they have spys in each others camps.... bet paul got in a fever for a min though ;-)

What exhaust do you have on your bike?  Is it clear, check the baffle has not collapsed or something like that.  Seems you have checked the inlet side of things, so it could be being restricted on the outlet side of things.
