Looking for a decent engine front bracket, in good condition, seen some on the bay but no better than my one! Just want to do one up, paint it etc for a quick swap come the better weather, also not really got the room for leaving things dismantled for days.

Has anyone ever had their Gen 1 front lower engine mount/brace (the part that gets pelted with stones and crap in the middle, then goes rusty ☹️) shot blasted and powder coated? Obviously washers and bolts would be used to blank off where the bushings and rubbers are. Bearing in mind the rubber inserts may be affected by the curing heat for the powder? Has anyone done this successfully?

Like many on here I do enjoy talking shite about my previous Foxeye and my present Gen 1,05, Thou. Against all better judgement l created a profile for Facebook which I f****** loathe, to try and join a Fazer group. I was declined as a scammer! ☹️ Yes the Facebook profile was vague because I don’t want to be arsed with people contacting me from years ago, I only want to access the Fazer groups! Any thoughts? P.s. As a self confessed ugly B******! I did not have my picture on Facebook when I joined, could this have something to do with it?

Does anyone else think our instrument cluster indication of the indicators being in use is shite? I am an old twat from the days of RD 250/400 and 350LCs, Kawasaki triples etc. The yams, especially of that era had blindingly  obvious flashing bright ones, self cancelling indicators as well, the LC especially as they were mounted very high on the cluster! I am forever forgetting to switch the Fazers indicators off! It’s not a matter of if but when some arse pulls out in front of me! Only issue I have with the bike really. What do you think?

I know it won’t need it with 12500 miles on my Gen 1 thou, but would I notice any improvement in smoothness, gear changes etc, by fitting one of these so called silent front sprockets. Don’t mind the work of fitting it, and they are relatively cheap, no issues at all with how the bike runs etc. I’m sure there will be a good bit of experience of these being fitted on the forum. Thanks.

I simply want to purchase a digital gear indicator that is a plug and play device, if it exists? Something with clear and concise instructions on how to fit it to a Gen 1. Or a link to a video that shows exactly how it should be done, any cutting into the loom or crap like that is a definite no no! Any recommendations or advice gratefully received as I am sick hunting for the elusive seventh gear. Many thanks.

Wanted, a new set of genuine yam exup cables for the mighty gen1 thou. Anyone got a set and now no longer got the bike! You never know. Now N.L.A. Obviously I’m not a fan of pattern shite!

i own a 2004 FZS 1000, question is are the wheels originally finished in satin black or gloss, or a form of jap bike semi -gloss black I've heard of, a sort of mid way between the two? P.S. that last bit could be bullshit someone has told me.

Recently fitted a new rear tyre to my old faithful Gen1, now the rear brake pedal goes right down after getting on the bike and riding it, even after bleeding the brake. Question is have I turned over the seals in my rear master cylinder by forcing the disc between the pads and possibly forcing the piston back as can happen with other braking systems? If so can I strip the cylinder and simply correct the seals or do I need a new set? Or any suggestions?  I have bled many bike brakes before but never had this issue. Many Thanks!

Has anyone yet attempted to start their Fazer after a storage period of 6 months? I filled my Gen1 to the top with E10 which had a small quantity of engine oil added to possibly help reduce tank rust, I then blocked off the tank cap air vent with tape. These are two things I always do. Bike NEVER fails to start 1st time every time after 6 months storage. Owned five years. After storing I then started reading up about E10! 😢 Three months life span and all that. I don’t know how this will turn out but it will give me and others a definitive answer. 🤞

I have changed many motorcycle tyres in my time mostly with inner tubes. I have never changed a tubeless tyre valve, is there anything I need to know, are all valves the same or a specific fitment (FZS 1000). Plenty of videos on YouTube on changing them but don’t want to go to my local stealer to be charged a fortune for two basic valves.

Always fit my own bike tyres to prevent others butchering the rims, should I use genuine purpose made tyre lubricant? Used washing up liquid in the past but been told it has salt in it which isn’t good for the alloy rims?

How much is reasonable to lower a fzs 1000 by using longer dog bones before causing any other issues? Could do to go down by say 20mm, is this reasonable? I know the bike will be more awkward to put on the centre stand, any other issues? Where is the best place to by some decent finished ones, don't want any old shite.

Just wondered how many people thought the same way as myself. Basically that they really are a total waste of money, built cheap as chips, but not to purchase, cause nothing but problems, remember you are cutting into your multi thousands of pounds motorcycle wiring loom!  Throwing in another very large concern when you have any kind of starting issue. I personally will not buy a bike with any form of aftermarket alarm fitted, is is a definite minus against the machine for me. There are so many posts with issues and questions on this site and others about alarm problems! I say avoid like the plague, but buying secondhand you may have to compromise. I remember the early eighties when people would let others drill holes in their new cars, cut into looms and all the rest to fit the biggest load of electronic shite to their cars, they were heard going off all over the place if a shadow was cast on the car!  Many people were of the mind set that they simply must have an alarm on their pride and joy! Don't start me on the fitting of aftermarket sun roofs. Thankfully not required on a bike! I know a guy with a mint pristine 1980 Ford RS2000.......................

Just wondering what is the correct sales brochure for my Fazer? It's a late registered 04 model on an 05 plate, checked with Fowlers years ago. The question is should the brochure be marked #3MC-0107004-03E. The 03 near the end seems to relate to the year but I have never seen an FZS 1000 brochure marked 04E! The two production years, 03 and 04 FZS 1000s I believe are exactly the same machines, tuning fork logo on the tank and exactly the same colours were available which makes me think there is possibly only one sales brochure marked 03E. I am sure some of the immensely learned Fazer gurus on here will know!

Having spent a kings ransom on RS paint in the past , has anyone found where, or how you get a promotional discount code? I have never found one or been sent one when I have bought paint from them in the past! Yes their product is excellent but with the cost of tax and their postage it just becomes almost a joke!

Should the four steel spacers be lubricated in their bushings within the bracket assembly, if so what type of grease is officially recommended for this job, if any.

I know about the Simoniz engine aluminium enamel spray paint, but is there any good match brush paint? With the headers off I have removed all the grease with good old gunk and cleaned the front of my engine and it's not too bad as the bike only has 11,000 miles on it. I don't want to remove the engine for obvious reasons. Been told you can use a sponge type brush too good effect by dabbing it on the slightly rough cast finish at the front. Any ideas.

Taken from my old 600 Foxeye European import simply plugs between two existing connectors below the tank, a kph speedo then displays in mph and records distance in miles. £35 posted.
