No mention of man flu which has to be one of the best ways of detecting manliness.
No mention of not having a boyfriend which may be another way of telling...but not always! (PC)
Does the size of his brood indicate one's manliness?
What about the judicious application of brute force and ignorance?
Refusal to ask for directions (yet most men who wont listen to their wives seem to have a female voice on their sat nav)
Anne probably has it about right...I would go about beating my hairy manly chest if it wasn't for this hangnail.......

Thanks Meldrum...taking the piss out of you on facebitch is my way of getting back up to speed :)  I don't think I shall ever be quite the same again....Let's be thankful for small mercies?!
MRI Thursday or MRA can't remember...funiest thing is I am remembering stuff from years ago......last night it was the pattern on a jumper I owned when I was about 19! ...(Yes wool had just been invented by then)....And dreaming of weird shit...I dreampt (is that even a word?) that I was sleeping with a very large book on my chest.....I

Some may have noticed my spouting being even more erratic than usual and I feel now I can enter my plea in mitigation.
Went to a family wedding in Cornwall recently and while there I  took a headache....well more like being physically punched in the back of the head (No it wasn't a Gypsy wedding) however said headache diminished in intensity but 10 days later I was still struggling a bit and had developed a bit of a stutter which is not like me but things have been a little stressful lately.
Mrs M insisted I go to GPs and I expected the usual 'take some aspirin' advice and sending on my way rejoicing. This however was not to be....I got a locum who took a look and despatched me to Portsmouth QA Hospital...CT scan and Lumbar puncture later results were inconclusive but painkillers working so two days later they were sending me home and I was on my way out the door when I was collared, strapped to a stretcher and wheeched (permit the Scottish venacular) to Southampton neurological unit where they took things a bit more seriously and decided that I had probably had a bleed on the brain...decision was whether to do an angiogram and insert clamps and coils??? (Nah I don't have a clue either) in the affected blood vessel/s...Decision was that the prodding about may do more harm than good and by and large I was fine other than bloody headache so I was discharged Friday to return next Thursday for an MRA scan to try to find the elusive problem.
Things I have learnt...it foccing hurts..NHS staff were by and large amazing.....people have gathered round brilliantly when we were all guessing WTF was going on. 'Tramadol Nights' can be very strange. Currently stutter is all but gone although it feels as though I am sometimes searching for words ..like they have been stored in a different place!
If every experience is a learning experience I could have done without this one.
There you have it...so no need to guess..yes BIG MAC needed his head looked at ...but you all knew that didn't you :)

This messing around is probably the only thing that keeps this country afloat...and increasingly likelier to come out a winner as the Euro Banks try to deal with what we (The UK) have been dealing with (ish) for the last two years. We need a a weakened (but not weak) eurozone on our doorstep IMHO

Love you guys some good stuff there and GF you are likely to hear from me...(Sorry!)
I am not going to put too much in here detail wise because by not doing so I am already getting some guidance that I may not have got by being smart arsed (or appearing so)
I have been out of commission for a couple of days so just getting back to look at stuff now...
THANK YOU

Aha...pearls of wisdom! Thanks to Mr Git, Ms Helen and Mrs OMF....
Limited year 2 if year 1 works out ok John, Helen...wanna little part time occupation ;-) , OMF I may well give it a spin.
For Info we will be Bathroom Kitchen fitting and Insurance related repairs....Gas Safe and NIC EIC through a couple of subbies (Who are mates) until we can get our own full time.
I know it's tough out there but if we keep our costs tight and reinvest to try to grow the company we wil see how we get on....right now I am 49 and wondering what the F I am getting into!

Rather than do the usual act in haste repent at leisure.....I am going self employed and need to do the following
Business plan
Speak to the Bank
Registration (will not need VAT year 1 at least I dont think so at this point)
Get an accountant
Let tax office know and apply for CIS status
Insurances
Website
Printing
Premises - from home initially but I have an eye on a unit which I can probably get v cheap (owned by family friend)
So I am looking for those on here with their own small businesses
I am setting up on a shoestring and can't afford costly mistakes.
I know quite a bit however never too old to learn so any advice, tips or tricks would be appreciated..

is it a 250 400 or 650? I cant remember what the looked like but the xs250 I owned for a short while had the ability to make a super dream look fast...pile of shengis of the first order...but ideal as a winter hack as very reliable I guess

How about the Isle of Arran? and Mac the elder does hold a senior post with one of Scotlands largest bakeries...could maybe organise a red cross delivery?
