Hi Red98, thank you for the information mate worked a treat use the air gun to pop the pistons out no issues at all just need to change the seals and will go about fitting the new set on the bike, I was really lucky to find it by setting an alert on Ebay just popped up I jumped straight onto it!!! I have attached some pics of the 600 caliper for you to have a look at if you are interested as I say just missing the seals and pads as I was to replace them.

Managed to get my hands on a fzs1000 rear Caliper for £40!!! Delighted with that outcome. it Has arrived today doesn’t look in too bad of shape but I want to strip them down and change all the seals. My question is how do I remove the pistons on these do I need to buy a blue spot tool also is that the same for the front as I will work on them too? Just refurbed my rear 600 Caliper if anyone is interested just needs new seals and bleed nipples.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Rear LED light bar issue
« on: 27 August 2019, 06:21:19 am »
I managed to get it through in April without them mentioning anything, the current light bar I am using converts half of the bar into the indicator as oppose to just the end portions (much safer) but technically I have zero separation between left and right I suppose it is pot luck

Thank you for your response it’s much appreciated glad to know that’s the acceptable range which helps me eradicate the regulator rectifier 👍🏻

FZS600 Fazer / Rear LED light bar issue
« on: 24 August 2019, 02:23:03 pm »
Hoping for someone’s help. I have an Integrated LED light bar with indicators. The light works fine when the bike is on tick over what seems to be the issue is after a ride the light bar seems to malfunction (flashes non stop) until I turn off the bike and restart. On my Koso dash I have a  volt meter which reads when riding 14.2 V is this too high? Also if I take the rpm up to around 10k+ the Koso Rev gauge also plays up until I restart the bike. So my question is should the bike when riding generate 14.2v and or is my regulator rectifier faulty. To confirm the bike is full LED conversion and a LED indicator relay installed to eradicate the fast pulse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SOLVED!!!! Thank you all for your advice I ended up raiding Ebay for another sprocket cover and actuator. Fitted it and the operation of the clutch is night and day what a difference!!!!

Next issue I have as the bike rear end is custom there effectively is no location for the ECU CDI to sit without being open to the elements under the seat pan (flat plate seat) has anybody relocated the ECU CDI to another position without having to open the loom to maximise length?

See attached image of where it could be positioned and create a tray; issue is then wheel clearance and tray attachment to the bike? (yes this should all have been factored in earlier however seat pan sits flush to the frame tube which wasn't planned)  :'(

Not the best resolution but does this help at all? Also excuse the number key I used for rewiring mine.

Quick update managed to grease up the actuator the first 5 applications of spray grease released a f**k load of rust and crud, outcome is a slightly smoother operation however I still have the clicking and to be honest I am not sure if the actuator is on its last legs when greasing a had three ballbearings drop out of the casing; I did try to force them back into the unit grooves which seemed to hold them in location. P.S your not wrong about the screws made from cheese!!! managed to free the bottom one with little effort which gave me false hope the top would be the same half an hour later heat gun in hand and hammering a torx fitting into the screw still no joy!! lets see how this runs once I have changed the rear light bar and fabricated a rear cable tray.

cheers again for your help  :)

Cheers for the link I think your right regarding the actuator as it will click from time to time when the clutch is pulled.

FZS600 Fazer / Heavy clutch
« on: 14 July 2019, 03:35:37 pm »
Hi all hoping for some info please since owning the bike it seems to have a very heavy clutch, so today I have replaced the friction plates and pressure plate springs for OEM also over the winter i converted the bike to a cafe racer so all cables are new and oiled. Whilst replacing the friction plates i did notice the steel plates are blueing so do need replacing however would this cause a heavy clutch??

Cheers

FZS600 Fazer / TPS Adjustment with aftermarket clocks
« on: 17 June 2019, 10:41:26 am »
Hi All,

I am currently rebuilding my carbs and have been looking at the "carb balance sequence" my concern is the TPS adjustment as I have fitted Koso DB-02r dials; has anyone performed this with aftermarket dials will they show the RPM feedback original clocks will show (0,5,10K)? if not is there another way I can adjust and record the feedback or should I leave the sensor well alone?

Cheers

Good advice I will remove and install some copper grease. Ref the valve check is the process simple enough to do also any advice on where is best to purchase new shims?
