FZS600 Fazer / Is this the right Chain/Sprocket?

FZS600 Fazer / Whats it worth?
« on: 02 January 2014, 03:24:06 am »
I know everything is relative, and essentially the answer is always going to be "whatever someone wants to pay for it", but I'm looking for opinions of what roughly my Foxeye 600 is worth..

Its Blue, on an 02 with about 15k miles on the clock, well maintained, only did 500 miles since ive fitted 2 new pilot Road 2's, and changed the filters and oil and fitted iridium plugs.

Ive also changed the front and rear pads in the last 500 miles for Ferodo platinum pads, and Ive changed the brake fluid for fresh ferodo stuff as well (as well as fitting goodridge braided hoses all round).

Its got a few addons that came with the bike when I bought it too:

colour coded hugger
fender extender
blingy rad cover
crash bars (unmarked)
scottoiler
changed indicator covers to clear when i bought it (still have orange covers)

Ive also got a renntec rack, although this is not fitted at the minute (I took it off in favour of the standard grab handle).

finally, I changed the number plate when I bought it (a legal one!), as the old one was a bit tatty for me.

The only bad points, are that the chain is a bit rusty, so I will probably change the chain and sprockets before I sell it, unless I can clean up the chain suitably enough (its just surface rust - but really winds me up and I want a gold chain :o). And also that the engine is a bit tatty and could be doing with the black being done again (which I may well do if time and weather permits me.)

The bike is totally standard mechanically, and the downpipes are still in good condition (although, toying with changing those too - stainless ones look nicer :o:o).

So there you have it, whats she worth roughly do you reckon as I reckon I will sell her in the next 2-3 months before buying an FZS1000 shortly thereafter?

heres a couple of pics to give you an idea of condition (although this was before the brake pads/lines and tyres were changed)

Obviously I would like to get as much as I can for it, but I dont want to advertise it when the time comes for an unrealistic figure and have it for an age before it sells.

FZS600 Fazer / Which SS Downpipe/end can?
« on: 28 December 2013, 11:45:54 pm »
Sorry guys, I'm sure this has probably been done to death, but I'm toying with getting some stainless downpipes, and a different end can for my foxeye.

I don't like really loud offensive cans, so nothing too loud, at the minute my whole exhaust system is OEM.

I'm not mega fussed sho t price, don't mind paying for quality if ifs worth it, there's just so much out there I don't want to buy something rubbish (at the same time though, don't want to needlessly spend the earth if it's not worth it)

Thanks for the help :)

For Sale & Wanted / XBOX 360 250Gb Elite For Sale
« on: 17 November 2013, 08:01:39 pm »
I know this is not strictly bike related, but im offering it up in case its of interest to anyone on here.

The time has come to sell my XBOX 360 due to the impending arrival of my new PS4 (at which time the XBOX will be resigned to a cupboard never to be seen again).

I have owned this for almost two years, and it has performed faultlessly. is has been in the same place for the last two years and is unmarked save for some dust where the fan is and some fingerprints. It is the 250Gb "Elite" model, and I believe I have an XBOX headset for it somewhere as well. (I'm not sure if I still have the box etc for the xbox, it may be in the loft but I have not looked yet). Included in the sale are 2 x controllers, both official microsoft products (one is silver, the other black). also one dual charging station which works perfectly.

I have 19 games for the XBOX which will all be included in the sale (Im not interested in splitting at this point), and there is also about 2-3 games on the XBOX hard drive I bought online, but I am unsure if it is possible to transfer these/use these with another login? in the interests of fairness I will not mention those 2-3 games at this point until someone can confirm for definite if they can somehow be transferred. The list of games is as follows:

Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion
Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim
Dantes Inferno
Assassins Creed II
Assassins Creed III
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Assassins Creed Revelations
Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Command & Conquer 3 : Kanes Wrath
Final Fantasy XIII
Forza Motorsport 4
Grand Theft Auto IV
Grand Theft Auto V
Dragon Age II
Batman : Arkham City
Saw II : Flesh And Blood
Fable III
Halo 4

I am looking for £300 for everything, plus whatever postage would be (around £10). here are some pics:

This is also advertised elsewhere.

Any questions, just ask, or fire me a PM :thumb:

Can the foc-u tapatalk logo be changed to the proper one and proportioned correctly when one of you ever so kind admins gets a moment. The Xmas one of the wrong proportions harshes my ocd buzz

This is how it shows for me (attached).

I know it's a minor issue, but still, it winds me up...because I'm odd.

General / Tyres...again?
« on: 04 September 2013, 09:03:31 pm »
Just wondered where you guys are buying tyres from, if online?

Im needing a pair for mine, but obviously would rather get them for a good price. Ive checked ebay, and blackcircles, anywhere else I should be trying?

Thanks FOCcers! :)

General / Which conti tyre?
« on: 19 August 2013, 11:14:08 pm »
So my bikes going to be due tyres soon as its still on the tyres it came with when I bought it, it has a Pirelli Diablo Rossi 2 on the rear, and a Dunlop sport tyre on the front. As I don't know the age or mileage on each tyre I want to change the pair and get a matched set (a bit OCD that way).

I've ridden a bike with continentals on it and really liked them (I think it was road attacks), but while looking there I noticed there are two different conti tyres:

Road attack, and sport attack. I've a feeling that road attack will offer everything I need, but what's the differences between the two, anyone any idea? (I assume sport attack is more track focused, more grippy but less life? That's purely supposition though).

Thanks for any help :)

Mick.

General / How can I tell if my seats been shaved?
« on: 16 August 2013, 12:36:17 pm »
As title really. Arse is killing me after 90-100 miles. I've been on a fazer before and not had this issue, also, on the other bike I seem to remember only getting one foot on the ground, but on mine I can plant both feet (about 5ft 7-8) flat on the floor.

Any way to tell by measuring it, as I'm not sure if the seats been done or someones changed the dog bones etc.

Your Suggestions and How you can help / Multi-Quote?

Its just occurred to me as Ive tried to respond to a couple of replies on a recent thread of mine - there is no option to multi-quote on this forum software?

This would be a handy addition at times, if it is possible to add it?

FZS600 Fazer / Sound at front end under braking/deceleration
« on: 11 August 2013, 10:15:56 pm »
Any one got any idea what the noise at the front end of my bike is. I've not had the bike long but don't remember hearing it when I got it. It is only noticeable when I'm coming to a stop at junctions (but may do it all the time?).

The sound is coming from the front end, front left I think, and sounds like a feint "clacker". The sound speeds up/slows down in relation to road speed, not engine revs etc.

It also seems to come and go slightly depending what's sitcom the wheel is in (so it also cycles louder and quieter depending on where the front wheel is).

It may be nothing, and maybe just road noise from the tyre? Or it may be something..speedometer is working fine too, as I know there are issues with a part in the speed sensor (I've not checked the tabs)

General / Strange text about Fazer
« on: 23 July 2013, 10:56:12 pm »
So,

As some of you know, I bought my fazer a few weeks ago from a nice fellow who had owned the bike for 6 years. I thought nothing more of it until I got a text from him today asking how I was getting on with it.

I replied that aside from just servicing the bike, it has been great, and that I plan to keep it for a good while, and couldn't see me getting rid anytime soon.

He then asked me, to let him know as soon as I decide to sell it, and he'll buy it back?!?

I guess he must regret the sale, even though he had an SV1000 on the drive when I took it, so think on before you sell your wee fazers guys, you will regret it :lol

FZS600 Fazer / carb balancing?
« on: 18 July 2013, 05:35:05 pm »
sorry for the most basic, stupid (?) question guys. but I see a lot of mention of balancing carbs on this site. This is great, and something I will do at some point. however, what are the symptoms of a carb out-of-balance? i.e. what will I look for to know when its time to actually do it?

As some of you will know, Ive not long passed my test, and only just got my fazer, so technically the carbs could need balanced now but as the bike is new to me, i may assume that the way it works now is normal, if that makes sense? it doesnt run like a bag of bolts in a washing machine or anything, but now and again the idle is oh-so-slightly lumpy? I assume this could be a symptom of the carbs being out of balance?

sorry  :agree

Your Suggestions and How you can help / Post Thanks?
« on: 15 July 2013, 12:26:15 am »
Just thinking out loud really, would it be possible to have some sort of "post thanks" system added to the new site? something like this:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=176565.0

I know that even though Ive only been here a short while, a lot of members have been helpful to me, and sometimes its hard to post up and thank them when a thread has moved onto another topic, so a system where you could click a "thanks" button to that specific members post could be a nice addition i think?

It could well just be me though

For Sale & Wanted / For Sale: Nolan N-Com Basic Kit 2
« on: 02 July 2013, 03:40:03 am »
I hope this is OK to put in here, I'm selling my Nolan N-com basic 2 kit. I bought this only last week as a precurser to buying the accompanying Bluetooth add on for it, however when it is fitted to my helmet it make my already snug helmet unbearably so, and so I've removed it after only switching it on to test it.

I've still got the box, all bits and the instructions, and I believe this will fit all ncom helmets that are from model numbers :

N42, N42E, N43, N43AIR, N43E, N43E AIR, N71, N85, N86, N90, N91, N102, and N103.

It may fit others, but these are all listed on the Nolan site. This kit cost me £50 to my door, and I would be willing to part with it for no less than £30 delivered (buyer must pay PayPal fees if using PayPal).

A good chance to grab a bargain it your a Nolan helmet user. I can post some pictures of it before I pack it all back away into the packets, but as I say, its in as new condition. I've advertised this elsewhere too.

Thanks for reading, ill do my best to answer any questions, but I've never ridden with it in, so I've not even properly used it yet :o

FZS600 Fazer / Boxeye/Foxeye years?
« on: 24 June 2013, 03:06:02 am »
Hi guys,

just a quick one this, I understand the foxeye model FZS was supposed to come in on 2002, is that right? was there a fair amount of boxeyes sold after this, and was there foxeyes sold BEFORE this?

The reason I ask is, ive been keeping an eye on gumtree/ebay/biketrader at the FZS600, and have spotted a few in the last few weeks on an 02/03 plate that are still boxeyes, and one of the bikes I've been taking lessons on is a 51 plate foxeye (complete with the tuning fork logos rather than the yamaha lettering etc).

I just want to know if this is normal, or if I should be wary of some of these which may have had accident damage and had the wrong panels as replacements? maybe just the cynic in me though  :lol

Cheers,

Mick
