FZS600 Fazer / Re: Tail Light LED Upgrade
« on: 18 November 2022, 06:31:16 am »
Just fitted these exact bulbs, very happy with them!
I also fitted a small led number plate light, drilled through the bottom of the light housing to feed the wires through... Just to keep MOT man happy...

I'm very happy with them, they are very bright.

I'm getting conflicting info about needing the plate lit up, but according to this website it's not necessary, although these LED's do light up the plate anyway, albeit with a red tint. There is a clear plastic window underneath the tail light (as shown in my above photo for people that have never looked), so as long as you have lights in there the plate will always be lit up from them once they are turned on at night.

Agreed, found lots of conflicting discussions too. Gov web site says---  no mention of light colour so you should be ok, just fancied fitting a separate light anyway   :)

4.7. Rear registration plate lamp,Hidethis section

4.7.1. Presence, condition and operationYou must inspect all motorcycles fitted with front and rear position lamps.
The rear registration plate must be lit. Most motorcycles will light the registration plate with a rear position lamp, but some will use a separate registration plate lamp.
Some registration plate lamps may be fitted behind the number plate.
Some mopeds might not have a registration plate lamp.

Hi all.
Been a while since I sold my Fz1, still got the Tiger sport and have had a second bike for a while. Currently it's an SV1000n but I can't get on with it...

I have been offered a deal on a 99 cat, had the gearbox rebuilt recently, Dyno jet carbs progressive springs and R6shock. 22k miles 2 owners...
Also looking at a 99 box eye, I have had one so I know I will get on with it.

Anyway my question to you guys as I know in the past many of you have had or at least ridden cats is what are they like to ride. Pegs too far back will be an issue for my knee, long reach to clip on bars? I don't expect it to be super comfy but don't want a bent over sports feel...

The bike in question is too far away just to go for a look, Thought I would try you guys for some info  :thumbup

Cheers.

I do miss my FZ but this bike is great. I will still hang around... lurking..... Thanks for any info I have taken from this site  :)

If you do end up trading it in and fancy selling some of the extras first then let me know 😉
Good luck with the sale

I have a few days to see if it sells as it is then I will take off the power commander, steering damper and the seat cowl. I will put a standard filter in also to hopefully reduce the air intake enough for the lack of extra fueling...
If you are interested in any of these I will give you a shout.  :D

Well to be honest I'm more interested in the screen or even the belly pan if youd go to that extent. I'd love the pc5 but I've only just bought a pc3 so can't really justify it unless Ya fancy a swap haha 😂😜

Bikes gone now, only took off bits mentioned above.

For Sale & Wanted / FZ1N for sale
« on: 09 June 2017, 10:09:02 pm »
Hi
Was going to trade this in and will if I don't sell private so offering here.
57 plate, 22k miles with fresh oil around every 3k miles.
Great looking bike but not mint, nothing major to mention just general wear and the odd mark.
Some nice extras including Power commander 5 Akropovic exhaust piper x filter and air box mod. De cat smaller flies, very recent steering damper at £350... carbon tail and few other bits, nearly new pilot 3 tyres and chain and sprockets.
White seat has been recovered in black, original two seats still available pillion pegs also available to buyer.
Runs great as expected  :D
£3200, I think that's cheap but taking miles into consideration... I have spent a lot on this bike in the two years I have owned it!
I can send more pictures and can be viewed in Harlow.

Where did you get the low torque wrench from?

Got it from eBay, was quick delivery and it meant I did not have to go into town!
It's a Bergen, cheap enough and certified. It did not make a mess of the rubber O rings so I'm happy  :lol

Fitted a HP steering damper... Had to get a new torque wrench with low settings, 5nm lowest for one bolt!
Instructions for fitting had to be read a zillion times  :rollin
Why do they insist on gold parts  :'(

Edit** just noticed the left securing point for the damper is fitted wrong.... Spacer and O ring should be below the gold part  :lol

Still got these, £150 anyone?
Will split at some point and stick on eBay, I won't use them again and don't want them being ruined in the garage!

You need to get yourself to a good bike breakers, there used to be some good ones in Essex.

There was one in collier row, one in chelmsford and one in Southend that I have used (many many years ago I might add)

Or try the part finder websites:

Cheers.
Already did partfinder, guess most places still closed for Christmas and new year.

Where are you?

I have a fairing bracket and top fairing (in grey) you are welcome to borrow, to play around with. tbf fairings/screens aren't too dear anyway in pattern form.
Thanks mate, very kind. I am in Harlow, bit of a trek from you but thanks for the offer. I have seen a China copy on ebay for the fairings... Still £100 for the bare shell, thats ok but like i said its the small bits that could take a while to show up for sale.
If you decide to sell your spares let me know  :)

 :lol
Fairly sure it will fit, read many threads of the reverse conversion like posted by Rob, yes rad end covers will have to be changed and headlight loom will need another bulb plug.
The biggest problem for me is the parts, all are available but some fairly expensive others not so common.... So i will spend some time looking for the parts that dont seem to come up for sale so often before committing to the more expensive parts (headlights, fairing)...

Noooo not buying an S, mine is special and i'm keeping it  :lol

Hi guys.
So going to start looking for the bits needed to do this over the next few weeks/months but cant find any threads throughout the web on converting from N to S.
Has anyone done this, any pointers or suggestions on making it easier?
So fairing/frame headlights various platic bits etc... Electrics i'm not sure if anything is needed?
I will just start ordering what i am sure i need but thought i would ask you guys for any input  :)

Before anyone asks why, i get bored... I dont want another bike so fancy converting mine :P

Fitted a Coffmans exhaust to my FZ.... 80 mile ride.... fook its loud  :lol :lol

Gotta be totally illegal surely???

Probably!
When cruising on the motorway it's only slightly louder than my Akra. It's in built up areas it sounds very angry 😂
