Being an all weather rider, the following are essential

Touring screen (bigger the better)
heated grips
Handlebar Muffs
ACF
A Regular hose down after a ride (keep your hose accessible ready to give it a spray)
Top Box
Scottoiler
Ex police clothing (debadged) its the best cheapest gear you'll get off ebay - most are goretex chuck them over your existing riding stuff.
white flip helmet with pin lock
a decent neck tube (try fishing brands) as they tend to extend over your chest to protect from cold.
and if you can afford it some cree spotlights
ADDITION ! Hugger and front fender extender if ones not already fitted - Pyramid do both £15 for fend and about £90 for hugger

I believe they are the same fixings. Mine was fitted to an 02 plate but recall on instructions it states 98/03. You can probably find instructions online.

All fixings included.

My bike has now gone, therefore i have a couple of extras for sale.

Genuine Yamaha Touring Flip screen in Smoke colour - Excellent Condition - £40

A SkidMarx rear hugger in Black (this one has the extended piece at the front to keep crud off the linkages and shock - Good condition, a few marks where it was fitted and then removed. Still very useable and you cant see the marks when its fitted. Cost me £80 2 months ago - £35 as it is.

Photos Attached
Would prefer collection due to the hassle of getting my hands on a box and getting to the post office etc - but will post if buyer is unable to collect - please note postage will be on top and will be additional £10 each as i'm guesstimating due to size and the fact i'll send with a signature needed.

PM me if interested - I live in Wolverhampton, a couple of minutes from the M54 junction. Also the model i had was a 2002 (facelift model)

FZS600 Fazer / Re: handlebars / risers
« on: 15 November 2012, 01:09:39 pm »
thanx for suggestion. these are all avenues already explored for me. only 29 and it transpired after a bad fall in motox accident when was 11 have lumbar scolosis. so  ive learnt to live with the ache. like you  ive been members of tri clubs and cycling clubs, so its never stopped me doing things, but just adapt my pushbike to give me more comfort. more recently torn a deep muscle in my back and having to do over 20k miles a year on my bike need it to fit me better.

Is there different types of renthal bars? ones that come further in? was consiering fitting the 50mm risers but think ll see a lot more difference than what ilready have.

« on: 15 November 2012, 11:40:16 am »
hi all

Hd my fazer 2002  for a few months now and trying to get comfortable on it- as have aknackered back.

I've fitted 30mm bar risers, however havnt had enough effect. trying to bring the bars closer towards me and keeping the height. The idea to keep any weight off wrists and my bck as straight as possible.

Can o recommend any other solutions ie swopping he hndlebars? hs anyone else tried to achieve the same withsuccess.?

Any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated.

hi all from he west midlands.

Picked up a 2002 fzs 600 ready for the winter a couple of weeks ago and must say very impressed with the handling. hoping its going t serve me well. do around 18k -20k miles a year so it will certainly be put through its paces. 29 years old, previously owned a trusty thundercat amongst other bikes from 50cc cagivas, singles. Twins of all makes right up to pan euros. looking forward to firing questions at folk on the forum as and went things crop up.

Safe riding.
