Lots of people seemed to jump ship when it switched to the new layout.
Just to say that there had been a long decline in activity since we were switched from ezboard to Yuku. The move to this board reversed that trend for a while and we went from 50 posts per day to over 200. So I rekon the 'bookers were holding things back :lol

The FB group is (or at least was) invite-only and it always struck me as the place where people went when they thought their postcount was linked to their status. "Do you know who I am / how long I've been here? I'm off to a private club." I suppose some bikers will talk to any fellow biker and some want to stay within their clique :\

What exactly are you after from the docking station?
Want the portability of a laptop but also the ergonomicness of having a proper screen keyboard and mouse. A docking station would be cheaper than buying a laptop and a desktop and would avoid problems syncing files etc.

Any tips on what to look for or how to choose? I'll probably go for one that is plugged in via a USB cable, but that still leaves a large array of choices of all prices. Anyone got a clue coz I aint!

"It has a Phillips head cross in the top, so I tried using that, but it started to sheer..."
Now I don't want to insult you, and I'm only posting this because I've made this mistake myself. But are you using a pozidriv screwdriver?

Unlucky, I'm sure that's happened to a few of us. I find it easiest to lift it standing with my back to the bike.

As I said in the first post, I know nothing about saws, so why would you think I'd know what each one is worth? Your opinion is that they are worth little - thank you for that, but why you should choose to express that opinion in such a way to offend my Mother's possessions is beyond me.

C is a tenon saw & Q is a dovetail saw, both quite self explanitory ie the tenon saw is for motice & tenon joints. The dovetail saw is for intracate dovetail joints. Both saws would suit a bench joiner & not a great deal of use for the average bloke !!
Im in the building trade & only ever used these saws way back in college.
Great, that's really helpful, looks like we won't be keeping those. Saw Q looks like it could have been used by an 1800's surgeon :eek

Cheers YFF and thanks again Mick. Just because I really do know nothing about this... when you say "the D type" you mean the type that Saw D is, not saws of a type named 'D' (if you see what I mean)?

OK we'll keep the junior saw and Mum can choose between B and D :)

Cheers Mick :thumbup

So a junior hacksaw is not for young people, but for smaller jobs?

Any tip on how to choose between saws B and D? She just wants to keep one of each type.

Or.. help sawly needed :groan

After a rough few years, my Mum has been streamlining her house and has found that she has several saws. She'd like to have some of them handy and give the rest to charity shops, however neither I nor her know much about them.

The help we need is to pick out say one of each type to keep and to understand what each one of for, how it can be used.

I took these pictures; I've no idea if the angles or the ruler are helpful so if other views would be more helpful just say.

Comments on even one or two would be most helpful, thank you.

Saw B

Cycle.  Do you wear a helmet?

Who gives a shit whether I do or don't.  Really?
Apparently some people shout out of cars "Where's your helmet?" At cyclists. Have you ever  had that?
