Thats a sad condemnation Steve- the likelyhood of you getting pulled will depend on how well the bobby has done with his figures that month
I had a 51 plate FZS6 with a standard sized plate with standard lettering which did not have the BS AU number on it and my bike failed its MOT- had to find the cracked and broken one and stick it together with tape and take it back to the MOT station 28

I think I am with Harry I did the same biker down course about splinter camoflage but also the point made by an- other that the cager coming from a side road wil have his lights 90degrees away from you and wouldnt light up your scotchlite anyway
There used to be a tale about eye contact with the cager until he sees you- but I guess that also works with defensive riding- you are watching him for the twitch when you know he is coming out anyway- you need second sight sometimes but sometimes you can almost smell him/her coming out and the fact that they are not switched on at all- thumb up bum and brain in neutral! 30

Yep- long motorway rides can lean on the tnak bag and take the weight off your wrists (at lower speeds)

I do use the anti slip mats (Aldi about £1) to protect my tank and I have never had one flip up on me and have never used the front strap.... perhaps because I am leaning on it with my large belly and that holds it down in place

General / Re: So, front or back?« on: 21 January 2013, 02:02:33 am »
I use a tank bag as it is easy to take off and take with you when you leave the bike for stops - lunch etc and soft panniers (no heat problem with an FZ6) as they can be slung beneath the seat for security and lets face it- who wants my dirty washing..... no dont answer that
I tried a tail pack and couldnt get on with it as I couldnt sling my leg over the bike and ended up sort of hopping on to the bike in a most ungainly manner 39

FZ6 / Fazer / Re: Thinking of returning to the Foccer fold« on: 07 January 2013, 09:28:25 pm »
I brought my 2009 FZ6S2 two years ago and paid £4200 for it with 1000 miles on the clock... but then it was a blue one.... Red is obviously a more expensive colour!
Around 2007/2008 the fuelling got improved apparently and cant complain about mine apart from that I dont think there is more than cosmetic differences between the 2007 and later FZ6's Never ridden one but the Tedium is supposed to be a great all rounder where the little fizzy needs a lot of gear changing to keep on top form 48
FZ6 / Fazer / Re: Installing Power Commander III on an FZ6« on: 07 January 2013, 09:24:18 pm »
Insurance companies are shite..... and dont get me started on endowment mortgages!!!!!
Have to say though.... when you get to my age the insurance cost of running a car or a bike are pretty low 49
General / Re: Biker Apps« on: 04 January 2013, 07:58:09 pm »
There is one called MPG on the eyepoodle...... it lets you put in miles and litres and charts your mpg... surprisingly
Its fun for a while and then gets boring but I know I get more than 50mpg average which isnt bad and it drops to 40 something when I am riding a little spiritedly 50
FZ6 / Fazer / Re: Installing Power Commander III on an FZ6« on: 04 January 2013, 07:51:41 pm »
so.... get it done just before renewing with Bennets .... or go somewhere else
