General / Email received from noreply@foc-u.co.uk
« on: 01 December 2023, 02:23:51 pm »
Hi Foccers.

I've just received an email in my Gmail Inbox from noreply@foc-u.co.uk but I have no corresponding message on our website.
Does anyone know if the email is genuine or is it a scam?

When I hover my mouse over the noreply address another personal-type email address is displayed - simon@prince.uk.net.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give.

Dave

General / Exo2 heated vest connector
« on: 04 April 2020, 02:34:22 pm »
Hi Foccers
I have just inherited a really great Triumph branded Exo2 heated vest (cheers Paul/Ogri48) and am trying to wire a suitable connector to the mighty thou.
What I need to know is, is the female connector, in the left hand pocket of the vest, centre positive or centre negative?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers & regards,
Dave.

General / Good day out, bad end of the evening
« on: 15 March 2020, 12:33:02 pm »
Had a great day out yesterday when I went with a mate to watch Wealdstone play Chippenham in a National League South football match.
Unfortunately, lost my wallet, with what seems like my whole world inside, including approx £100 in cash, on the train coming home.
Bugger!!!  :thumbdown :wall :groan

Hi Foccers
As per the title, I want to fit a compact size tank bag to my Gen 1 so looking for a Givi tanklock ring/fitting kit to mount to.
Many thanks in advance for anything anyone might have.

Sorry chaps, but I've sorted one from another source.
Cheers anyway.

Bloody hell Paul.
This the road we took back to Pontypool at that exact time yesterday!!!!
Must have happened just behind us.

Poor bugger.
Yet another biker taken away and not his fault by the sound of it.

You've got to feel for the old guy driving the Range Rover too as he's probably in bits.
Mind you, it does strengthen the argument for more frequent driving tests above a certain age.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Lubricating the EXUP parts
« on: 26 March 2019, 05:10:40 pm »
Evening Foccers
Looking for advice on what is the best grease to use when reassembling the EXUP valve.
Copper grease tends to dry off and leave a powdery residue on the internal pieces so wondering what might be better.
Is it OK to use molybdenum disulfide grease?
Many thanks in advance,
Dave.

Hi Foccers

Time to sell the missus' Foxeye Fazer 600.
She still loves it but doesn't have the time to ride it.

Loads of good points but a couple of minor things to note - details as follows:-
  • New PR3s fitted front & rear 2k miles ago
  • New chain & sprockets fitted 7k miles ago but bike fitted with Scottoiler so still like new and loads of adjustment left
  • Iridium spark plugs fitted at same time as chain & sprockets
  • Stainless downpipes fitted & PipeWerx end can (lovely sound) so no rust issues in the future
  • Replaced OEM fuel gauge with a Christian Vieth electronic multi-gauge — gear indicator, fuel gauge, air temp, water temp & many more - cracking bit of kit
  • Upgraded 12mm front sprocket nut (cures the common 9mm nut fault)
  • Wingrack 2 luggage system with integrated indicators (the fitting kit for the FZS 600 isvery rare; try finding one!!) together with Kappa topbox & small panniers
  • Oxford heated grips fitted
  • META Alarm fitted with upgraded next-gen battery fitted a couple of years ago which has a single connector that allows a quick swap should the battery ever need replacing in the future
  • Crash bungs fitted
  • Always garaged and kept on a CTEK battery optimiser
  • Always starts first time and runs sweet as a nut - no issues with any of the mechanicals as far as I am aware
Now the couple of bad points:-
  • Rear wheel paint is flaking quite badly in places so could do with a powder coating (front wheel is fine)
  • Left hand engine casing scuffed where I dropped it getting it off the centrestand outside college one evening - what a pillock.
An absolute bargain and an awful lot of bike at £1800.

Sad to see it go but the mighty thou will keep me happy!!

I live in Cwmbran, South Wales if you want to come and have a look.

Cheers Foccers,
Dave.

Hi Foccers
In need of a right hand side (throttle side) fork leg lower with a working compression damper adjuster as the one on my trusty steed is seized solid.
Taking the bike down to MCT in 4 weeks (thanks for the lift Paul  :) ) to have the suspension reworked so getting desperate!!
Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help .
Dave.

Events, Meets, Ride outs etc / Steel Horse Cafe Bike Night this Friday
« on: 06 September 2018, 09:08:04 am »
Hi Folks
Just a reminder that this Friday 7th September is bike night at Steel Horse Cafe near Abergavenny (NP7 9AY for sat navs).
Always a great turnout.
The cafe is open all day from 9am and closes at 9pm on monthly bike nights but late afternoon / evening is when the majority of bikes turn up.

Would be great to see some fellow Foccers there  :)

For Sale & Wanted / Refurbed & upgraded FZS 1000 rear shock for sale
« on: 27 August 2018, 11:46:11 am »
Here for sale is a standard Gen 1 rear shock absorber that was overhauled & rebuilt approx 5 years ago.
It's sat all wrapped up in a box in my garage all that time as I did Devilsyam's R6 shock mod when I bought the bike about 4 years ago.
I was new to Fazers back then and didn't realise what was already on the bike and, taking much of the good advice available on this site decided to "upgrade" what I thought was a standard shock to the R6 one.

I believe everything was done by MCT Suspension (sticker on the shock) and the spring replaced with a K-Tech 55-175-90 one, which I think is for a YZF-R1 looking at their parts catalogue but I don't really know what the numbers mean.
I think the first two are the part number and the 90 is the spring rate (90 N).

It's in really good nick with a small amount of surface rust on the preload adjuster and outer body of the shock absorber and a small amount of damage to the rubber bump stop.
All the working parts are like nearly new.
It also comes with the standard dog bones I took off when doing the R6 mod.

Anyway, check out the photos and see what you think.

I'm asking £125 for it plus postage, which I'm not sure how much that costs as I've never sold anything like this before!!

Hopefully will go to a good home and a Foccer who is looking for an upgrade to their standard shock.

Hi fellow Foccers  :evil

I am looking for a colour coded rear hugger for my 2002 Foxeye FZS600.
It's the blue model which I believe is known as DPBMC - Deep Purplish Blue Metallic C

Saw one on another bike on a ride out over the weekend and it looked great.

I've looked at all the various hugger manufacturer's websites and they are nearly all just black or carbon fibre.

Skidmarx still offer a new blue hugger but I don't know if it's a match to the Fazer blue or not.  :\
They don't offer or imply any colour coded service.
Anybody know if it does match or not??

Any help or suggestions most welcome.

Thanks in advance  :)

Introduction / New member riding a '52 FZS600 foxeye
« on: 06 July 2012, 07:27:43 am »
Hello everyone.
I have heard & read great things about FOC and am looking forward to joining the gang.
I have owned my '52 FZS600 foxeye for a couple of years, having passed my DAS three years ago.
I am a 49 year old guy from Cwmbran in South Wales and, after looking around at loads of other bikes, have decided to stick with the Fazer and lavish her with the love and attention she deserves.
Ride safely everyone.
