I did my old '6 using Hammerite spray gloss black (smooth)

I did it with engine in situ - good cleandown, get rid of flakey bits, wash, dry, abrade, degreas.....then meticulously mask off all the "non black bits" e.g. the carbs - that took bloody ages...then spray away little at a time - used 2 and a bit cans.

It is not marketed as heat resistant but it is - I've used it on the downpipes in the past too (smell a bit while it bakes on)

It looked mint but I guess some of that is down to how long/ho much care you take doing it

A riding plan that relies on exceeding the speed limit to complete a manoeuvre is unacceptable. If you consistently exceed the speed limit the examiner will stop the test and you will fail.

oh well... :lol

« on: 28 December 2012, 04:07:48 pm »
The reason I used a relay was to avoid inadvertently leaving something switched on - which I did do when I first "lashed in" my heated grips to see if they worked because it was cold and then left them that was for next 6 months - luckily I got he flat battery at home.

So there you are.  I eventually did it all the right way with a relay (energised by a ignition swithed live).

I used on of these as the "auxiliary fuse box" http://www.daqstuff.com/400122_pat_10-4_w_transzorbs.htm

« on: 21 October 2012, 08:48:01 pm »
I have been using Rain-X for years - I always use it at every visor clean

134
I'm still here - normal service will be resumed shortly :z

135
Venue

Same as previously:  West End Outdoor Centre, Thruscross, Harrogate, HG3 4BA

Pricing

It has gone up to £290 per night which is £29 per person per bunk total for the three nights

spaces will be oversubscribed - please don't let this put you off coming - see the sections on camping and dossing

## CAMPING AND DOSSING DOWN IS FREE AGAIN THIS YEAR  ##

Deposits and Payment

Normally those who subsequently cannot make it will get their deposit/money back assuming the place can be passed on.  Otherwise the shortfall has to be covered by those who have attended.

As every year you have plenty of time to book the time off; that said I appreciate "stuff" happens and can't be avoided - be assured I will try me very best to refund you if this happens and your excuse is genuine.

I have already paid the £200 deposit to secure the booking.  As this has been covered by deposits paid I don't need any further payment until April 2013, when I need to pay the FULL balance for the accommodation (by the end of April).

On this basis I will be expecting a minimum deposit (per bunk place) of £29 no later than 30-April.  Priority for bunk places will be given to those paying deposits - A deposit can be any amount £10 or upwards. Multiple deposits are fine but I'd prefer it all in one i.e. for bunks the full £29.

Due in previous years several people not turning up at the last minute last time (with genuine excuses thin on the ground), I will be expecting payment IN FULL no later than two weeks prior to the meet.  If you have not payed in full by 10-May then your place will be offered to others. Deposits will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances or your place is taken.  If you place is taken, the person taking it shall pay me the difference between the deposit paid and the total amount payable i.e. you are responsible for recovering your deposit from them yourself (obviously I will put you in contact with them).

Anyone dropping out at the "last minute" will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances.

Food/beer/band/sundries will be £45 ish per head - the non meat eaters and tee-totalers get a corresponding reduction on the cost.

Reduction if you only eat weeds: £10 ish - Reduction if you don't drink alcohol £15 ish

This has always been a three night event.  If you want to stay for less then fine, but again I've booked for three nights so you pay for three nights.  In 2010 people not staying Sunday did get a discount but only because there was a surcharge that year.  I have previously considered a system whereby those wanting only two nights paid more per night but less in total than those staying for three - too much fkin hassle foir the organiser!

Popping over for one night only? Normally anyone who turns up on the Sunday (or other night but there is unlikely to be any spare bunks on the Fri and Sat) and takes a vacated bunk and chucks some money in the kitty (assuming you want to eat and drink) -  £10 is about right

You can pay me by Bank Transfer (or if Paypal but this is not my preference)

send email to 2013@springmeet.co.uk and I will forward the details

# Please DO NOT use the PM feature to contact me - use the email or Facebook! ##

Pricing Summary

Bunk + Food + Meat + Booze = £75 per person - for campers £46

Bunk + Food + Meat = £60 per person (teetotalers) - for campers £31

Bunk + Food + Booze = £65 per person (veggies) - for campers £36

Bunk + Food = £50 per person (jees no meat and no booze!) - for campers £21

Saturday Entertainment

Of the musical variety.................I will be booking the same band again   http://www.facebook.com/bluestartattooband  - the cost this year for the band is £tbc!! -  likely to be £280 ish  - this is already included in the prices above.

There is also the usual "alternative" entertainment...

Rideouts

Usual Saturday run to Hartside etc

Sunday - coast or several splinter groups - something for everyone!

Beverages

Sufficient quantities of alcoholic and non-alcholic are provided (sadly this event is not longer the piss up it used to be)

Food

There will be the usual (my excellent local butchers) BBQ fayre for the Friday and Saturday nights together with the usual snacks etc

For Sunday night - open to suggestions (had curry last three years!!!)

There will be a stupendous full cooked breakfast on the Sat and Sun mornings (subject to volunteer cooks!! and washer ups)

Camping (FREE)

Camping is free this year as last year I done a deal with the owner - I supply (make) 2 No. outside picnic tables : camping is free

Dossing Down Inside (also FREE)

This is an alternative to camping but all you need to bring is a sleeping bag. This option will be limited to a maximum of ten people (due to space and I only have five airbeds)

There a slight surplus this year - so those who want to come again in 2013 can use this towards deposit - if anyone wants it back let me know by email - alternatively I can donate to charity, or just put it in the kitty.

Here is the scores on the doors deposit/money owing wise - if you're not listed here I don't owe you owt!

TO CLARIFY: i) you need to advise you want to come by posting in this thread or by having emailed me previously (I am not a mind reader), ii) I have enough to do without chasing people on this list; if you don't come this year, and you don't ask me for your money back then it goes in the kitty for this year.  END.
