anyone up for a run to the seaside ?
-
Yep Mr.Red, I'll be up for that :thumbup
-
Had intentions of going (went last year) but have decided to do a complete front and rear caliper rebuild instead, need my brakes more than the ride out, slightly gutted though!
-
I'm in Red, let's hope the weather is on our side.
-
Mr gabrael.....mmmmmmm thats winter maintenance , a sunny bank holiday in may is for riding....get the brakes done on sat/sun and join us for an extended test ride on monday :thumbup ...always great to meet some new faces from the forum :)
Thats 3 of us so far + a couple of my mates from here in high wycombe....
anyone else want to join us ?...everyones more than welcome to tag along....
-
Just checked weather for monday , high of 18 deg, moterate breeze , cloudy , little chance of rain , thats good enough for me :thumbup
i'll be coming from high wycombe , bucks jct 4 M40 , if anyone wants to tag along iam flexable with my route and dont mind a detour to meet up , what that really means is, I dont really have a route, just a destination and am most likley to get lost :lol
looking forward to It already :)
-
Mr.Red, Will you be going via The Oakdene?.
-
I could easily be convinced to join you fine fellows, any times and meeting places in mind?
-
Can't make this one I'm afraid. Off to Scotland on the Tiger. Later in the summer chaps :)
-
Mr.Red, if you can get to the Oakdene at whatever time is good for you, we could just have a drink there and then go to The Airport caff on the A20 for breakfast, via mainly B roads, then go over the top to Canterbury and on to Margate. Just a suggestion, if you have something in mind, then all the better :thumbup .
-
Hi ROBBO , yes oakdene will be good for everyone , I like the detour to airport cafe too.....my mate wants to tag along too so will see what he thinks in the morning and then parhaps suggest a time tomorrow......
surprised we have not heard from captain pugwash aka KIT CRAZY by now.......
-
Mr.Crazy will be afloat this weekend :) , so will be giving this one a miss unfortunately. I can text you my proposed route if that's any help Mr.Red.
-
Morning foccers........how about 10am at oakdene ?
both my mates have dropped out so will be on my own , one of them rides a HON* A so no great loss ;)
RED CERI ...you made your mind up yet ?
MTREAD...have a great trip , look forward to seeing some piccies on your return :)
-
Yep, that's fine Mr.Red. That will get us down to the Airport Cafe for mid dayish after a chill out at The Oakdene. A spot of breakfast, and on to Margate. :thumbup
-
Mr Red,
I'll be there.
10am at the Oakdeane cafe sounds good.
See you all on Monday :) :)
-
we have a plan :thumbup what could possibly go wrong :lol
come on DAZZA ,this OK with you ?
anyone else interested ? your more than welcome....
-
Yep, sounds good to me. I may be working Sunday night but will aim for 10 at the Oakdeane
-
Weather update , slight improvement , 18 deg , moderare breeze , no rain , but now with a small chance of some sunshine :thumbup
just looked at last years margate run posts , a meet time of 8am at oakdene , how things change.....
-
Make it 8am then. I'm good with that. It would mean you'd have to leave home really early though :lol :lol .
-
:eek Only saying :eek .........
best leave it at 10 , old man DAZZA's going to struggle with work , and he's not getting any younger ;)
i'll be leaving high wycombe at 8ish , down to windsor , a short hop on the M25, right turn on to the A24 , quick stop at box hill, left turn onto A25 which should take me all the way down to oakdene :)
-
Sounds good to me. Ride safe, see you tomorrow. :thumbup
-
A good days riding on the mighty thou , great seeing you guys again and a big thank you to ROBBO for planning and leading the group from Oakdene cafe down to the Airport cafe just north of folkstone , some good twisty B roads and a good breakfast at the end , then a blast up the A28 through Canterbury and onto margate , left home at 8am and back in at 7pm ,288 miles for the day on 1.5 tanks of fuel , not going to work out the MPG because thats not why you buy a 1ltr bike , but I think thats pretty good ...
a couple of bikes that caught my eye :thumbup
-
Glad you enjoyed the day Mr.Red, and we managed to stay dry as well which is a bonus. We left just at the right time. I showed 188 miles before the light came on, so just needed a splash to get home. Hope we can arrange another day soon. :thumbup
