Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: FZS1000 7k on tacho at startup« on: 20 July 2019, 11:46:02 am »The valve on the Gen2 is for noise / emissions purposes only and unlike the Gen1 has no effect on the bikes performance or power delivery. Again unlike the Gen1 the valve on the Gen2 is located in the OEM end can (not in the downpipes) so fitting any aftermarket can such as your Scorpion will necessitate having the cables disconnected and left in a convenient location like under the seat. So no the advice for a Gen1 EXUP valve does not apply to the Gen2.If you brought it from the dealers I would tell them to fix the exup properly, putting a eliminator on doesn't fix the problem, the bike won't run correctly with the exup open at low revsDoes this only apply to Gen 1only,because when I bought my Gen 2 the exup had been disconnected and the cables were underneath the seat,I have a Scorpion pipe and it runs through the rev range ok,with a bit of a snatchy throttle at low revs and popping on the overrun, apart from that it seems ok.I would like to lose that snatchy throttle but figured it was because it's fuel injection and not carbs which always seem nicer on low speed pick up,does anyone think a Power commander would help? Thanks for that, top man. 1280

General / Re: Anyone bought an MT10 or MT10SP?« on: 19 July 2019, 12:20:08 am »The MT10 and the SP are an awesome bike in its class... when you look at the competition, most of them are using very old engines / tech ( GSXS1000 is a 2005 GSXR1000 engine thats been detuned). The Sp is a tricky one, when you add up the individual cost of the Ohlins electronic forks, Ohlins shock, colour display etc it stacks up.. but.. you would only need the Ohlins if you were using it on track a lot and if you were using a bike on track a lot it would not be an MT10 the SP is kind of the answer to a question nobody asked..You work at a bike shop! You lucky foccer is this you? 1288

Got in touch with R&G and they sell just the end caps at £3.40 plus vat, which is ok,then they charge £5.25 p&p! it's only little so I don't know where that comes from, but it's still a hell of a lot cheaper than a bobbin so I ordered one.

I'm in a rush at the moment but I'll think of a challenge while I'm out and about.

Pity about the dustbins but that's a typically british scene too.

Was giving my car a bit of a service 'cause we're going away for a week and I noticed the fan belt was frayed and in a bit of a state to be honest ,I went and got one with the oil and filter and couldn't believe how long it was, 90 inches! that's 7ft 6" in old money!anyway I removed some trunking out the way to get a better look and this belt goes around that many pulleys and wheels etc it's a joke,I took a photo of the sequence and looked for an adjuster on the alternator like you normally would....,nothing! so I went on u/tube and found a video and there's a bolt under one of the pulleys that releases the tensioner and voila! the belt slips off easy peasy, then you just work out the right sequence and put the new belt on and at the end turn the bolt again and it automatically tensions it,from what I thought was going to be a nightmare turned out to be the easiest fan belt change I've ever done!My car is an old Merc diesel, just in case anyone has one.
