Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Ignition advancer
« on: 07 April 2015, 02:20:11 pm »
I got an advancer off ebay which for 14 pounds inc delivery has been the best value mod I've done on my gen 1 02 model fzs1000.  I've noticed easier starting and it seems to have made an improvement in low/med range tractability - well worth the small amount of money!  I'd recommend it.

first time I've seen Marquez in the pits looking anxious and thoughtful after the race.  Some terrific work on the Ducs to improve the handling by an order of magnitude plus thee Suzukis showing promise and the Hondas seemingly not as all conquering as before.  That was one of the best races I've seen in years.......Vintage season coming up??

have you considered Hagon - good price and better performance than standard springs even for a chunky chappie like me (16 stone)?

Putting 20 points margin on a tough side like France a bit more impressive than beating a Scotland side that semed to play their worst game of the tournament that day.....Anyway a great tournament with enough drama for a Hollywood ending.

Roll on the world cup - wonder which French side will turn up?  :-)

St Patrick was a Welsh captive forcibly taken to Ireland and definitely not Irish - no wonder the irish need to get pissed on St Patricks Day! ;-)

Smoking is a lifestyle choice to use what is a legal product l(ike booze).  We're all responsible for our own actions and the consequences of them too...........If smoking is that hazardous ban it treat it like heroin!!  Or is there too much revenue collected from it in terms of taxes???   The whole thing strikes me as 'crocodile tears'  rather than real concern.

The things he talks about seem directly designed to injure people for no reason at all.  We stopped chaining mentally ill people up and whipping them to drive out demons hundreds of years ago - someone should tell him!!  Sounds to me as if  he's purely malicious.

Personally I've always felt as th onlything that's keeping me on the road is the tyres and that yoou're absolutely dependent on them that if you have any doubt at all - change 'em.  I'd rather spend money than blood!

A 4 degree ignition advancer for my fazer 1000 (excellent value!) and a pair of tyres for my sv1000 suzuki (not quite so cheap!!)  Soon to get a stage 1 Ivanising kit fitted - hoping that will be good too!

With the amount of chain lube on my sprockets no need to worry about corrosion..........

Currently Pirelli have angel ST on offer at 198 pounds - fitted  Got mine at Bike treads in Swinon for my other bike (SV1000 suzuki) and they feel fine.  I think that's a really good deal - think the offer is still on but I suspect not for much longer........

The mt09 seems a very capable bike -  but IMHO just hideously ugly!! I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder - but it's better if you're not blind - or perhaps it is if you're looking at an mt09   :-)

Crossed wires skippernick, I meant that Gloucester played the Ospreys and beat them, not that they played Bath....still as long as a west country team won.....

However Gloucester (ahem..) did in the previous week.  that was difficult as I'm a Bath fan too.

Great result at the Millenium after being 10-0 down in the first 10 mins and after all the pundits in the press were going for a Wales win - Ladbrokes were offering 8-1 against an England win, I really wish I'd put a tenner on that one!  As for the stuff in the Tunnel - Pah!!!

Isis are the guys that throw gays off tall buildings for being gay but say its fine to marry a NINE YEAR OLD girl as well as enslaving Yazidi and Christian minority women after exterminating the men and boys (all of them were unarmed - naturally) it's also ok burning helpless prisoners alive in addition to beheading a volunteer aid worker just because he was a white christian.  Religious Nazis can be negotiated with........  They need stopping - NOW.  Hope the Jordanians take no prisoners.

I had an st1050 and the gt version too.  both have terrific engines with silky torque right the way through the range the only niggle I had was that your legs could get hot in warm weathe due to underseat  exhaust otherwise as good an allrounder as the fazer1000 but even better handling.

I have to say as an all round tyre I've found the Dunlop roadsmarts on my fazer 1000 give a solid planted feel with an easy 'turn in' and handles 2 up well - like people say depends on your riding style and how much performance you use how much of the time.......

Understand the appeal of Vtwins too.  I've got an SV1000 suzuki as a complement to the fazer thou' (gen1)  - a lot of fun but different to that 4 cylinder feel and as they say variety is the spice of life!!  I think that if we could afford a stable of bikes we'd all have our own set.....mine would include the road version of the RG500 just for the wail and the smell and a 350 yam too as well as a Triumph Trident 885cc model - trouble is the list just goes on and on!!
