Indicator brackets after pannier fitting
« on: 14 May 2013, 09:07:06 pm »
Gents, anyone have any pics of where and how the indicators have been moved to after fitting panniers and top box rails? Do i have to move the indicators?
I know there are plenty pannier posts but none that show good pics of where and how the indicators are mounted...........

  Cheers Guys  :)

I have the SW Motech stuff on mine and they mount like this, slightly different for the Givi solutions.

With the pannier brackets removed. (zoom in a bit  ;) )

I am thinking of adding an additional set of LED indicators, if i add these will the flash rate be different? There will be 2 sets on the back, the standard and higher set of LED!

Assuming you have the givi set up which i have fitted to my fazer then it is not necessary to remove indicators at all..........the rear connecting bar which Givi says has to go through the indicator holes in the mudguard can just go between the mudguard and the number plate.

One of the things that bothers me is that cagers wont see the indicators as they will be hidden to all other than directly behind.........But on the other hand they dont really take notice of anything so guess it wont really matter too much.......what about from a legal point of view from not being able to see the indicators, any issues there?

Guys, its a pleasure to get advice from one of the best forums about, might just space out the number plate and mount the bar behind the plate, nice one gents!

She sails through mot every year so no problem there and plate is only bent out a little and has never cracked. Although givi provide new indicator mounting brackets they are supposed to be positioned high up on the side of the top plate and look absolutely dreadful with no box attached. Much prefer my solution as bike remains a looker and its less work in the first place as well........
