So when the key is turned the needle climbs to the very top and stays there, all the time, however the reserve light still works? And often (not always) when it comes on the needle will jump to the correct level? How do i fix this so it works normally?

I need a replacement bolt for the very top of the fuel tank where it fastens to the top of the frame (just under the handle bars/yoke)
No idea what it is called though?! Any links to a seller or Ebay listing?

R6 rear shock, balance the carbs, read A Twist of the Wrist and work on getting faster/smoother etc.
All of these will keep it interesting

« on: 03 June 2017, 07:36:42 am »
Not a whining sound... more a sort of washing machine cycle sound, more gutteral than high pitched? Started on the last part of the journey back from The Krazy Horse the other night so i has beeb wringing its neck. Bike starts and droves ok tbh, the sound is not present when sitting, just on the move, pulling the clutch in when rolling along the road does not stop it either. The bike was whining a little on the motorwats through the gears, but i noticed that stopped somewhat at least when this sound started? Also When stationary in the garage, engine running, if i hold the revs with the throttle ot seems like a larger chunk of the rev range is quite burbley now? Could be imagining it though.
Carb rebalance?
Cam Chain ?
Leak in the carb rubbers?
Any thoughts/advice would be great, apologies for the descriptions but without being here its difficult to capture the sound :)

FZS600 Fazer / Never needed the choke ever? Is this normal? !
« on: 23 May 2017, 10:11:12 am »
Litteraly never used the choke to start the fazer, ever, it just bogs it down and stalls it if i try and ever  utilize it during startup. Cold mornings sometimes it will start with a touch of the button, or if not just a whiff of throttle imput. Hot days is different As i have to hold the starter down and pump the throttle slightly but it always starts and runs etc...
just wondering why this would be ?

As above ive noticed a high pitched whining sound on the mororway (not really around town) in time with the engine speed, it shuts off if i chop the throttle or pull the clutch in? I have recently put the baffle back in the end can so im hoping its just normal engine noise that im not used to hearing as apose to gearbox or Camchain 😬

So i took it round the block and it just feels generally way more planted, stable, no seesaw action? Braking/acceleration are far more progressive, less fork dive on braking, more bike stability on acceleration. Roundabouts feel miles and miles smoother, holds a line far batter, no bobbing about etc.
Oh and the original shock is heavier as well, R6 came out at 2.3kg, Fazer 2.9

Dog bones? If thats what u mean the yes. All fitted now, fairly easy tbh, o took the rear wheel off as u have more access that way, Hardest part was getting the wheel back in and chain on by myself tbh.

Its possible they didnt put enough in i guess, cannot see the yellow fluid in the window but they are very strong when the lever is depressed fully, just feela like too much play in the lever itself before much happens, so unless they use clear brake fluid wich im not convinced exists lol  im guessing it needs a small topup ?
