Gen 1 tool kit contents?

Hi - my recently purchased gen 1 didn't come with a tool kit, so as a starting point can anyone let me know what's in it? I won't use the "made of chocolate" tools that come as standard, but if I know what sized spanners, spark plug socket, Allen keys  etc come with the supplied kit, that'll be my starting point.

I think most things in it are basic kit but you will need the spark plug socket that is hinged mid length. Check out ebay.

The only items in the tool kit that I've used over the past 7 years have been the rear shock preload adjuster when I still had the OEM shock fitted, the screwdriver for on the fly damping adjustments,  and the spark plug socket. There's the usual array of cheap double ended spanners and Allen keys but they're all too short to be of much use. You do get an extension sleeve for the spanner that fits the rear wheel spindle nut but I doubt that you'd be able to turn the nut with it.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll go with 8, 10, 12mm spanners, 4,5,6mm Allen keys, pair of general purpose pliers, and a magnet on a stick   Luckily I happen to have a 32mm spanner for the rear (with extension) so I'll check out a plug spanner. Anyone happen to know what size they are othe gen 1?

It is not the size that matters, it is the bendy design that allows them to reach the parts that others fail to reach.

AIS has been removed so not sure flexible is "as" necessary but anyone know the plug size? Or got a flexi plug spanner going cheap?

Found this on eBay, using my pinky as a measurement against the 10mm spanner, it's about 80-100mm long before the hinge.

That's great thanks. I'll just check plug size next time I've got the tank off, but interesting to see the spanners are 10mm and up. Should be able to rustle those up

I use the toolkit ones now and again, and can undo it just fine. I think a lot of people, and certainly garages, over tighten the things. Been doing wheel spindle nuts by hand without using a torque wrench for years, no problems.
