***From Deefer666***
Did you replace the gasket on that casing? It provides just enough clearance for the starter gear to turn. If you replace that casing minus the gasket the gear is pinched and therefore will not turn. The clicking is the starter relay giving way because the motor simply cannot turn.... Simples

deefer still runs his maintenance courses where you and your bike come to his workshop, you service yourbike yourself under his tuition you can always give him a call quite a few foccers on here, old and new have been over 07887 854614 he is based on the A14 (well not on it lol) near thrapston - so at the A1 side more than the M1 side but well worth the ride

been a few times, had ink done by Marin at Gandalf Tattoo in Zargreb, and you have a lovely country spent hours in your museums and galleries, and have always found everyone so polite and helpful - oh and those lovely lovely meat ball kind of things they cook on the market site, where they dip the bread rolls in oil before toasting them on the grill - well i would fly back out just to taste one of those again

OK Deefer666 says that depending on where the needles point it is one of 3 things
1) TPS Faulty and the rev counter needle will give the fault code 2) The magnetic tips breaking up from the ceramic drive dog (very common if the front wheel has been removed by an unexperienced mechanic) 3) The speedo sensor wire wearing through on the brake discs due to being incorrectly routed
