Behind bars!
« on: 20 July 2020, 11:47:11 pm »
Appreciate this is a very personal issue, affected by size, build, posture, kit etc. etc. etc.
With the bike came a set of LSL Sonder-Lenker handlebars.
Never heard of them, seem well made, just wondering if they may be known of, and if so are they a recognised retro-fit improvement?
Look slightly higher and wider from standard, no locating holes for retaining lugs on switchgear, would like to try them if the concensus is they are a good mod?
Really dont fancy removing lugs on switchgear in case I regress to originals, drilling holes in new bars again is an option, but again need any info as to is it a valid mod or not.
Thoughts and info please?

They look to be the same raise and length as the Renthal bars on mine, you'll have to drill some holes to locate the controls etc and I also ordered some braided hoses a couple of inches longer but I think they'll look better than std. :thumbup haven't heard of that make though. If you click on Media in the search bar and look in photo competition you'll see mine under "my beast" ;)

never look down on anyone unless you're helping them up.

The question (which only you can answer) is "Are they a good fit *for you*?"

Have a look at this video and ask yourself: "If I put these on the bike, am I going to have to adjust my arm position/ posture to fit the bars, or will they go into the place where I need them to be for my comfort?"

LSL are a German company. They've been making flat bar conversion kits, including handlebars, for sports bikes for more than 20 years. Fully TUV tested. Have had an LSL bar conversion on my Triumph since '99, used to be distributed in the UK by V&M, a very well known company in the racing world.
