General / I do miss it !!
« on: 16 September 2014, 09:41:39 pm »
After having swapped my Cracking FZS 600 in Feb this year I'm finding that I miss the little bugger, the TDM I swapped her for is ace and I love its torquey high up ride and comfiness but the Fazer was summat else. I had no fear dropping it into corners but I'm finding that I aint got near as much confidence with doing the same on the TDM .

For Sale & Wanted / My Old Divvy 600
« on: 20 January 2014, 07:20:34 pm »
Hi there Peeps, I have recently bought a TDM 900 so my divvy has to go and mines a 97 600S. I bought it about 3 1/2 years ago with 37000 on it and have only done 43000 or so now. She has had a lot of TLC and have spent loads on her getting up to the standard she's in now.The only let down is the tank as it was dented when I got it and I aint been able to source one. I have put braided hoses on her aswell as Givi rack and coocase topbox (48 ltr ) She's had oil n filter changes in April every year regardless of mileage, new plugs, air filter, rear tyre (battlax),rear shocker 8000 miles old and complete really good exhaust last year. I also replaced the engine base gasket as it was leaking on the left hand side but not no more. As you'd expect there are a few scrapes and scratches on her and the fairing I paid £75 for last year is racing green and not the metallic green as original. She starts on the button every time and has a 1 year old Motobatt battery on. She also has an alarm/ immobiliser and is T&T'd till May this year. I'll send you some pics if you like. She also has heated grips fitted which come in handy this time of year and a front fender extender also the front tyre has only done about 2000 mls if that. I'm looking for £700 for a quick sale o.v.n.o.I know how good she is for riding and I don't want her doing nowt and stood seizing up month by month so if she do'nt go on here I'll advertise her elsewhere. I would break her but i think she'll do somebody a fair few miles yet.Regards Rich

FZS600 Fazer / Well I've done it !!!
« on: 06 January 2014, 06:03:35 pm »
Hi All, I'm so sorry but I've gone and done it against wot all you nice people have advised me to and swapped my Fazer for a TDM 900 mainly because of the comfort thing. It is a 2005 model and I rode it home from Huddersfield on Saturday and it woz like an armchair with wheels :z . Lovely though and quite pokey for a twin and SWMBO loves it so think I made the right choice. Thanks to all who put posts up to try and help me out with the issues I had but this came at the right price and the Fazer was taken as a part-ex too so less hassle all round.  I will be staying on if thats ok with you all so thanks again for all yer help.

General / Dont know what to do???
« on: 23 November 2013, 12:41:35 pm »
Hi All, I'm in a right kerfuffle, I bought my Fazer in February and love it to bits and as in a previous thread I said I wanted summat higher ( TDM , Versys etc ) and |I've had phone calls from 2 dealers with bikes better suited to my long legs but they're not giving me what I think the bike is worth, I'm really reluctant to put an advert up as I'm not good at this kinda thing and I'm a bit of a push over when haggling . I really don't know what to do for best as I spent about £ 400 or so since buying it after the initial £1600 for the bike and all I'm getting offered is a grand part/ex. Think I f*****k up in the first place or what????

Cheers guys   Buck

General / HOW MUCH?????
« on: 03 November 2013, 09:17:34 pm »
Hi all, I'm a relative newbie on here so go easy with me pleeeease....   I bought a Fazer 600 in February after doing a lot of research on this site and the tinterweb, found me a good un and its fast Black, 99 model with 8100 mls , hugger , crash bars , db screen and Datatool alarm for £1600 , since then I've put a fender extender on it together with a Givi rack and top plate, 2 new tyres and a radiator cover, bar risers and a pillion seat gripper thingy, my question is : How much is it worth now and did i pay too much in the beginning to get a reasonable price for it now. I'm only asking cos I think its too small for me and uncomfy on long rides for our lass. I love its turn of pace and handling and fuel economy also I've only put 500 mls on it since buying.

Thanks in advance   Buck

Diesels and Lawnmowers (Bike racing n things) / Marquez can't count!!!!
« on: 20 October 2013, 06:58:34 am »
Oh what a shame, Marquez missed his mandatory pit stop the silly get!  I'm glad really cos when he came out of the pits eventually, the little upstart nearly took Lorenzo off again. Well its still wide open and Pedrosa is cligning on, roll on Japan.

FZS600 Fazer / Risers ???
« on: 01 August 2013, 09:32:08 pm »
Hi Peeps, just wondered if any of our members have used higher and pullback bars instead of risers on their FZS's as the bar clamps come back already. I need the more sit-up style as I have a bad back. I have found riding my Diversion 600 more comfy ( risers fitted ) than the Fazer.

Thanks in advance   Buck

« on: 23 June 2013, 04:16:46 pm »
Hi Guys n Dolls, got my tank off for rre-spraying and wondered if theres owt to look for whilst its off. All seems fine and i've checked the air filter which is brand new by the looks of it. Whilst I'm on, the lower fork stantions are well pitted and look crap so what has people done to cure it apart from replacing em??

FZS600 Fazer / Front Sprocket????
« on: 08 June 2013, 09:11:12 am »
Hi All, just checking the front sprocket on my bike and all seems to be well. There is a dotpunch mark on the gear shaft which tells me its been off to do the mod but how will I know??? How deep is the new nut compared to the old one? And the lock tab has been bent over in two positions telling me that thats extra security after a fix.

Thanks guys   Buck

FZS600 Fazer / Touch-up Paint??
« on: 25 May 2013, 12:47:02 pm »
Hi Guys n Dolls, I have a couple of deep scratches on my tank and wondered if anyone has had the same problem (deep scratches) and how you've got round it?  I went to Halfrauds earlier today but they never had a black metallic repair kit, I think its Yamaha Black Pearl I'm after so any help will be appreciated.

FZS600 Fazer / Headlight Bulbs ????
« on: 05 May 2013, 06:45:50 pm »
Hi Guys n Dolls, Is there an issue with changing my h/light bulbs to 100 watt ones?? The reason I ask is that I thought i'd try and solve the rattle I found with the shroud around the left light and when replacing the bulb it had blown (TWAT )!!!!! Wondered if any of you had used 100's and what results you found?

FZS600 Fazer / You've got me worried now!!!
« on: 30 March 2013, 12:43:58 am »
Hi all, after a warm welcome last week I read through some bits n bobs about the FZS600 and I am now slightly worried about the front sprocket problem they have. Is it a case of listening and waiting for it to go, are there any signs to watch out for or is it a case of removing the cover to check and do a modification whilst its off anyway??? The latter sounds the most practical and whats involved??

Thanks  Rich

Introduction / Hi all , from a newbie
« on: 23 March 2013, 10:13:23 am »
Hi All, My name is Rich and i come from Hull, Humberside ( Yorkshire really ) and have just bought an FZS 600 'T' 1999 with only 8100 miles to her name, I also have a Yamaha diversion 600 which is a great old bus. Married with 2 grown up lads and a lovely wife Jo,
I love the Fazer only having done 100 miles or so because of the sodding weather but the missus got aches in her hip while out so is there a mod that can be done to lower the rear footpegs apart from putting an orange box on the seat for her lol.

Thanks Rich ( Buck )
