Venue
Same as previously:  West End Outdoor Centre, Thruscross, Harrogate, HG3 4BA

When?

Spring Bank 'Oliday weekend i.e. arrive Friday 22-May - stay for three nights - fek off 'ome Monday 25-May (Bank 'Oliday)

Pricing

It has gone up to £310 per night which is £31 per person per bunk total for the three nights

## CAMPING AND DOSSING DOWN IS FREE AGAIN THIS YEAR  ##  BUT IF ALL BUNKS ARE NOT FILLED THEN A CONTRIBUTION WILL BE REQUIRED FROM CAMPERS/DOSSERS !!

Deposits and Payment

Normally those who subsequently cannot make it will get their deposit/money back assuming the place can be passed on.  Otherwise the shortfall has to be covered by those who have attended. As every year you have plenty of time to book the time off; that said I appreciate "stuff" happens and can't be avoided - be assured I will try me very best to refund you if this happens and your excuse is genuine.

I have already paid the £200 deposit to secure the booking.  As this has been covered by deposits paid I don't need any further payment until April 2013, when I need to pay the FULL balance for the accommodation (by the end of April).

On this basis I will be expecting a minimum deposit (per bunk place) of £31 no later than 31-March. Priority for bunk places will be given to those paying deposits - A deposit can be any amount £10 or upwards. Multiple deposits are fine but I'd prefer it all in one i.e. for bunks the full £31.

Due in previous years several people not turning up at the last minute last time (with genuine excuses thin on the ground), I will be expecting payment IN FULL (i.e. total inc. food) no later than two weeks prior to the meet.

If you have not payed in full by 10-May then your place will be offered to others. Deposits will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances or your place is taken.  If you place is taken, the person taking it shall pay me the difference between the deposit paid and the total amount payable i.e. you are responsible for recovering your deposit from them yourself (obviously I will put you in contact with them).Anyone dropping out at the "last minute" will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances.

Food/beer/band/sundries will be £55 60 ish per head - the non meat eaters and tee-totalers get a corresponding reduction on the cost.  Reduction if you only eat weeds: £12 14 ish - Reduction if you don't drink alcohol £20 21 ish This has always been a three night event.  If you want to stay for less then fine, but again I've booked for three nights so you pay for three nights.Popping over for one night only? Normally anyone who turns up on the Sunday (or other night but there is unlikely to be any spare bunks on the Fri and Sat) and takes a vacated bunk and chucks some money in the kitty (assuming you want to eat and drink) -  £20 is about right

You can pay me by Bank Transfer (or Paypal but the latter is not my preference...) send email to 2015@springmeet.co.uk and I will forward the details - note the bank details are same as last years!

Events, Meets, Ride outs etc / Valencia GP 7-9 Nov 2014
« on: 11 May 2014, 09:10:31 pm »
OK some of you may recall my better half 'agreed' once I had finished the barn conversion I has a 'free pass' to the last GP of the season, Valencia.  This was based on the premise that completion would be sometime (latest) summer 2007 so an appropriate treat for my hard work.  In reality it was definitely going to be done for Xmas 2011, OK absolutely definitely no question complete by Xmas 2012 (not), but eventually completed for Xmas 2013 (Whahey).

So here I am, carried over holiday, fuckin loaded etc.

I am going to Valencia for the GP this year - if it's by mesel then fine but preferably with some Foc-u 'soul mates'.

Last ferry to Santander/Bilbao is 01/02 Nov (return in May 2015) so this not really an option (maybe for Ewan McGregor) so this will be a though France/minimum fckin about (ok we will have beers) trip until we get to Cheste.  3k +mile round trip from Yorkshire.

I'm suggesting (thinking aloud) ride to Dover Tues 4-Nov pm - B&B then early ferry Wed 5-Nov - overnight in France To get to Cheste Fri - set off back Mon 10 back for work Thur 13 (or maybe Weds 11 if you live in Dover).

Join now!

Oh I should have said old farts are welcome but not those that smell, ride or drink like old farts.

Not that I expect that many takers but no more than six sounds right.

Events, Meets, Ride outs etc / SPARE PLACES!!!
« on: 18 April 2014, 08:16:44 am »
Several people have recently dropped out  (total deposits received £5!)  :\ :z

If these places cannot be filled then everyone else has to pay more!

I will be shortly embarking on my usual last minute recruitment drive but if you can help by 'bringing a friend' please do

Unfortunately this scenario is just part of the fun to be had in organising these events - ever wondered why this is the only FOC-U still going?

Seem to remember on the North West Foccers Scottish raids a few years back (2007/2008) clocking up about 430ish miles in a day

 :thumbup

Maybe not a recreational ride but still quite a feat - one of my old mates once did Monaco to Stafford  - something like 1000 miles in 16 hrs  only stopping for fuel (and ferry) :\  - on a CBR1000F with his mate on a I think an FZ750
