General / Re: PENSION QUESTION
« on: 02 August 2014, 12:41:05 pm »
Looks like the questions is to cover the right to use your partner's NI contributions towards your state pension. If your pension is less than £113.10  a week and your partner (even if you're divorced) has enough NI contributions, you may be able to increase your pension up to the £113.10. You lose this option if you remarry or live with someone as if you are married.

Saw four at Billinghay bike night. Three boxeyes, silver, black and a bright yellow one and a gold  and black streetfightered one.

For a little bit more, you could join the group buy for the multi gauge,  which looks a much neater solution and the electronics work doesn't sound like it would be an issue.

Filled it with some unsual bits and pieces:-

Tissues
Razors
Gloves
Foil Blankets
Safety Pins
Bandages
Tuff Cut Scissors
Suction Pump
Oxygen Cylinders and masks
Pulse Oximeter
and a Defibrillator

Are you a paramedic? Do you use your Fazer on duty then?

I'm a First Responder with LIVES. We provide emergency pre hospital care whilst an ambulance is on the way.

And yes, I use the Fazer (sadly no blue lights - they'd only slow me down  :lol )

No, just an advisory. Mine passed on Tuesday without a chain guard on.

Took it for its MOT (passed  8) ) then spent 15 minutes trying to figure out where this spring had come from that appeared in my top box

Then I found the rest of the broken pen in the document holder.  :b

Picked it up after treating it to some PR2's, braided hoses, chain and sprockets and a brake lever, filled the tank with nad-cooling go juice, disturbed classes in 15 primary schools dropping of some flyers for the after-school clubs we run and then headed down to Spilsby Bike Night. Arrived home with fuel light just coming on and a big grin  :D

Sounds like it could be a stuck brake switch (most likely the rear)

No stupid questions here, you're just the one who had the guts to ask!

General / Re: Scottoiler FOCCERS Discount
« on: 18 March 2014, 02:23:24 pm »
Why would you buy from eBay, when you can pay the same (actually slightly less, it seems?) and get direct from the manufacturer, have much easier discussions should a warranty claim be needed, and be giving all the profit from the transaction to the company who has designed, built, and is taking all the risk of being in business, instead of some parasite sitting in his spare bedroom?

Actually, for those reasons, I'd be quite happy to pay slightly more!

Whilst ebay does still have some parasites selling from their spare bedroom, the link provided is to a company that has been trading since 1977.

Scottoiler's total price for v system, dual injector and bottle of spray comes to £114.90 (before discount) or £91.92 (after discount) excluding postage (couldn't find delivery costs on Scottoiler's website).
(Reputable) ebay price for the same = £82.89 including delivery.

I can see no issue with a warranty claim from the ebay retailer, even if you wanted to liaise directly with Scottoiler, as their registration section allows you to register a product bought from third party sellers.

Whilst with the discount arranged by bbb (thanks for taking the time to do that) does make them only 10% more expensive, without it, they would be nearly 40% (38.62) more expensive than a retailer (who is also taking a risk being in business).

Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with conciously paying more to one retailer than another if I can reasonably justify it (better service, supporting a local retailer, etc), but when a manufacturer is significantly more expensive than the retailers (who they've aready made a profit from), I find it harder to justify purchasing directly from them.

Remember to top up the tank when you switch to reserve.

And after you've topped up, switch back from reserve!

When bump starting, jump on the bike before releasing the clutch.
