Not today but Monday evening on my way home from work, some FOCCING ASSHOLE pulled out in front of me and slammed his brakes on causing me to crash into the back of him and now my beautiful red beast is FOCCED.

I'm OK, battered & bruised and the brain feels like it's been in a blender as my head smash into the back of his car. I'm just so glad my helmet camera picked the whole incident up and clearly shows he was a dick pulling out in front of me without looking or indicating. I would post the video but I need the police and my insurance to look it over first as I don't want to affect any of the claims I'm claiming for.

Thanks buddy I really hope it all goes well too. They are picking my bike up Friday for assessment and also dropping off a curtesy bike but I don't know what I'm getting, not that I can ride at the moment any way but I might be fine by Monday. I will be highly shocked if they don't deem it as a write off as the whole front end needs replacing as well as the tank and a load of other bits.

The bike is at least 15 years old, I know that the age of a looked after and loved bike does not detract from the the value that the owner places on his beloved machine, but alas the insurance companies will see it as a 15 year old bike and most likely deem it as a uneconomically viable repair and stroke it away with a dash I'd a pen. Might be worth buying it back from the insurance Co and seeing it as a project or dismantling it as spares, especially if you look for another Boxeye.

It will all depend on the buy back cost and what payout I'm offered etc, but either way I will be looking at getting a replacement bike.

Would you go for a replacement fazer or a fazer replacement? I.e. what bike or bikes would you consider buying fella?

I was thinking of a FZS1000 as I had been toying with the idea of a bigger cc bike for a while but I was hoping to keep my 600 as well for winter riding or for fun at weekends. I was also looking at an MT-10 but I think that's going to be well out of my price range at the moment there are a few others that have cought my eye but the one that seems to be screaming out is the Fazer thou.

I have always said that my next bike would be a street triple but I if left this forum I don't know where else I would go to get the piss taken out of me.

You don't have to leave just because you have a different bike as if I do get anything different to a  :faz  I'm still going to hang around like a bad smell  :lol  I quite like the street triple myself but I think I'd probably go for the speed triple only because I'm looking to go for a beggar cc engine.

Today, I 'ave mostly been fitting a TCP screen and hand-guards to my Fazer.

I'd post a photo, but it looks crap. Well, it doesn't, but the bolts do, it needed longer than standard screen bolts, so I've had to order some off fleabay.

I also fitted a lead to the battery so I can plug a battery tender in.

But the most important job of the day was to book it in to get it's new Michelins fitted, the old Bridgestones are on the limit at the front and square at the back, and it wobbles like a terrier shaking a rat if I take my hands off the bars for any reason.

Good choice. PR3s are excellent on the 600

The PR3s on my Fazer are the best tyres I have used for all round performance wet or dry. (Got PR4s on the Tracer- factory fitted)

just finished a 820 mile round trip to the Nurburgring, did 5 laps of the the 'Green Hell' which was an awesome but scary experience. The old Fazer never missed a beat even after maxing it out on the autobahn with an indicated 145 chasing my brother on Aprilia Mille.
