After just under a year I have decided to sell my Fazer, though part of me thinks I'll regret it... but I fancy an adventure bike so here goes
The bike was a category D write off in 2010, minor cosmetic damage to one side after a slow speed fall. The bike was purchased off the insurers by the previous owner to me, an engineer from Glasgow, who decided to use the bike as a project and spent a lot of time and money upgrading her with the various bits listed below.
The bike does not come with any service history which I know will put some people off so just thought I'd add this at the top to save you reading on if that's a deal breaker for you.
I have a number of receipts from previous and current ownership, including a receipt from Maxton for just under £1000 for the suspension work carried out, and receipts for £800 ish for the new chain and sprockets, new tyres and new front discs and pads that I have purchased this last year.
Upgrades:
YZF R1 4XV Forks. These were sent to Maxton to be rebuilt, re-valved and re-sprung to suit the weight of the Fazer and for sports riding.
CNC Billet 'Thug' yolks made by Billet Brain (Martin CNC) to allow fitment of the USD forks and to maintain the geometry with the shorted R1 fork legs.
New taper bearings
Maxton fully adjustable rear shock absorber.
Shorted dog bones
Fazer radiator guard
New EBC Contour discs and pads
New DID chain and sprockets fitted (530 VX-116 Chain)
Front and rear tyres replaced around 1500 miles ago (Bridgestone BT016)
Viper rear petal disc
Venhill braided lines
Mini indicators
New Exup valve, bushes and end plate
Rental bars
New infill panels
Shorty levers
Ivan's carb kit fitted
Ivan's AIS removal kit also fitted
60mm bore can and link pipe
Belly pan, under tray and tail tidy
New lock set fitted due to sticky ignition
Seat professionally recovered
Wheels powder coated and new bearings fitted
I purchased the bike at 28k miles and it has now covered just under 31k. All fluids were changed by the previous owner just prior to purchase. He also carried out the following work:
All callipers stripped, cleaned, painted and fitted with new seals
Valve clearances checked (all within tolerance)
New coils fitted
Lots of bolts and fasteners replaced with stainless steel ones, and some brackets removed and powder coated.
The bike comes with 2 keys and MOT until November.
I will add some more photos soon.
I'm asking a fixed £3500
Thanks for looking!

Hi Carl, I'm afraid I can't advise on that, I've no idea how compatible they are with Givi stuff Do you know if Gen 1 specific Givi pannier racks will fit to these arms. Cheers Carl

Bought from a forum member for an upcoming trip but now not required as I am using a different luggage arrangement. The arms are freshly powder coated. I purchased the rack with no bolts or the square protector pads. I have included a square piece of neoprene foam from which it should be easy enough to cut some to fit. The four fixing bolts should be fairly easy to find. I paid £55 through PayPal so am asking the same amount posted. Cheers

Great photos! None to show here, was too busy riding 300 miles, West Midlands to Llangollen to see the aqueduct there, then on through to Dolgellau and back round to Welshpool, Shrewsbury, Kidderminster then home. Great weather and my first ride on the Fazer Thou; very pleased with her, should have bought one years ago.

Ah, looks like it might do the trick. Don't worry about the arms, I'll probably install it upside down anyway knowing me

Anyone got a rack or grab rail they want to shift? Just looking for something that I can tie a lomo bag or similar to for an upcoming trip.
Cheers

That is sad to hear.
Can't understand why you would go out of your way to make obnoxious comments on a thread about the death of a fellow biker? Quite simply pathetic

Thanks for the extra info, much appreciated. I will give that a try when I next get the chance, I was planning to have another go yesterday but having not ridden the bike since purchase in November, I couldn't resist a blast out in the sunshine

Glad you got out for a good ride on the Fazer, I also got out on mine for the first proper ride since purchase in November! Fantastic machine, should have bought one years ago. I'll not be selling this one for certain Plenty of sunshine in the West Midlands

Hi all,
Bought my Fazer in November last year and it was displaying the 7k code on the tachometer.
Went out today to have a look, loosened the cables (top was very slack already) valve turned freely as expected; the seller advertised the bike as having had a new valve, end plate and bushes.
After a few attempts at adjusting the cables I am now free of the 7k code. However, having looked at a few videos of working valves, the initial position of mine at idle seems to be off somewhat and despite several attempts adjusting I could not get the forks of the pulley to line up with the hole. I'm also unsure whether it is opening fully, I thought it seemed a bit hesitant. Does it open all the way to the 2 O'clock position at red line in revs?
Here is the video, I took the revs up to about 9k at the end. I was hoping an expert could cast their eye over this and perhaps give me some pointers
Thanks in advance
