General / Sorn?
« on: 14 December 2012, 12:23:03 pm »
sorned the lads car the other week, eventually he goes and retaxes it and gets a pull as its showing as being sorned. Cops are ok when they see the tax in the window but asked him if he'd notified anyone (DVLA?) that it was not sorned anymore
now I was under the impression that once you taxed it again, it was blatant too all concered that it couldnt be on a sorn and Ive never had any comebacks when sorn/tetaxed the bike
anyone know different or was the cop getting mixed up?

General / Gloves.....advice please
« on: 14 December 2012, 11:56:57 am »
not motorbike gloves :b
I suffer with cold in me hands, not Raynaulds but I still feel it bad. Wearing ex military arctic mitts at the mo but theyre too bulky. Need a good pr of warm gloves (waterproof too would be good) for walking the dog/hill walking/possibly cycling
want gloves not mitts and the outdoor shop recommended skiing gloves but they never had my size in. can anyone recommend a decent pr?
I don't mind the cost they just need to do the job and I know this is quite subjective as what you consider cold maybe freezing to me
cheers

General / muffs.............
« on: 15 November 2012, 01:20:45 pm »
EASY TIGER ;)
if it gets really cold this year then I may fit the oxford muffs that have sat in the garage for a while, sure I read on the old site about the best way of fitting them.....extending bar weights or something with a washer fitted to stop the wind forcing the muff onto the brake lever?
anyone shed any light or can anyone post instructions/pics on how to do it?
cheers

General / sponsorship update
« on: 17 October 2012, 10:01:42 am »
a little while back I asked for sponsors as I was running the Liverpool marathon. I done it on Sunday in 6 hrs 19 mins carrying a 55lb bergen, it was hard as Foc. Would I recommend doing one............yes and no
yes....great cameraderie especially when it gets tough, very humbling seeing all the different charities it really gets you thinking, the outcome for your charity
No..........PAIN (ha ha) the training needed is awesome and time consuming, you need to commit
a few on the site backed me so a big thanks, if you would like to give a bit then you can do it here and read all about it
cheers

monies raised will go to children who have suffered burns (Alder Hey Childrens hospital (burns unit) they take kids from all over)
if you can spare anything at all then please follow my link

« on: 23 July 2012, 03:09:43 pm »
 :eek :eek
got my reminder off mrs Nash last month and as I was on leave and not going to be using the bike for a month, I thought foc it, save me money coz I'm skint and save a months insurance whilst its sat in the garage...................how foccing wrong can you be?
initial renewal was £147 which I reckoned I could beat down 20 dabs, 1 month later when I ring up, they quote me £300+ WTF?
tell the lad to foc off then ring back and get a different lad who quotes me £226.......tell him the same, he says some bollox about rates changing daily, I tell him to go foc himself........over £150 to sit me bike in the garage for a month?
taking the p**s
rang bennetts and got it for £91, added breakdown all for just under £160
I think mrs nash will be going bust soon

I'm looking at getting a turbo trainer and don't know which one, can any of the cyclists recommend or put me off a certain make/model?
have read the wind types are the simplest, mag are better but fluid better still
also been told that only do an hour max on a turbo, any opinions on that one?

General / IE 9
« on: 06 October 2011, 03:02:24 pm »
anyone using it?
I'm on IE 8 and I get updates everyday, sometimes a few times a day to update to IE 9. I don't know much about computers and I don't want a debate about firefox etc, just wondering is IE 9 better than IE 8  and will it change the way I browse (heard it doesn't save your favourites like IE 8 does...........any issues like this I'd like to know about before I potentially move over)
cheers
