OAT coolant I brought mine from Halfords.
Don't believe any named brand is better or worse, its just coolant to neutralize acids and protect alloys like Aluminium.

Good luck in your travels Mike, it was a pleasure to meet such a knowledgeable and friendly guy.
I'm sure your wife will be looking forward to a holiday that does not include bike fiddling.
Your a ledged in the fazer world.
I do hope you find time to pop in now and then to give us your advice.
I still haven't fitted the front end yet, lots of factures have stopped that from happening least of which was a torn tendon in my arm.
It will happen and I look forward to my first ride out.

Good luck

Say goodbye to your mods. But you will enjoy the sun. Good luck, enjoy.

Take an already painted part to a paint supplier like RS they can colour match it for you and put paint in a rattle can.
Its a bit costly but will match.

Amount of noise will also depend on air filter type. Have you still got rubber cover on air box

The u shackle of the lock fixes to the underside of the seat. The lock part for the U shackle goes under strap nearest front of bike. The strap at back of bike is for a tool kit.

Give horn a tap they rust up and stop working. Check the 2 connections on the horn for Voltage.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Powdercoat or paint ?
« on: 13 February 2018, 05:20:00 pm »
Ask about plugging any holes that need to be clear of paint. Powdercoat is a bitch to get out any holes, its tough, even retapping holes can be a pain and it tends to chip away at start of hole. A good company will do any you want doing for you with the appropriate plugs.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Removal of Headers
« on: 07 February 2018, 10:51:51 am »

Can take quite a bit of tapping flanges and wiggling to get free.
The corrosion after removal might have to be chiselled out of recess with screw driver etc to get it clean for refit.
You can also replace with stainless bolts.
And before anyone starts shouting about electrolysis/corrosion problems, if you use a thread sealant and coat studs well you will not get this problem.
Don't forget new copper compression washers.

Good luck

This was mine on the fzs. Needed new pulley wheel, cable bracket and new inner cables.
Re tap hole after to clean threads. There not blind holes so easy.
