As far as I know only the French version of the FZ1 has the 100 bhp restriction. If your bike is a French one there is a small tutorial on youtube on how to derestrict it, completely for free and quite easily.
Here, I found it for you:

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Brake discs again
« on: 02 November 2014, 10:57:41 am »
Ok, so I bought a set of Galfer discs and pads. The pads are sintered on the front and on the rear, I don't remember. After having ridden about 1000 miles, 1600km, with them I have to say I like them a lot! My braking distance has decreased quite a bit and braking is very progressive... I think they look good too...

Thanks, thats really nice of you. I don't know that I'm stuck though. I might end up taking the plunge and buy a set of Galfers, but I have some time to make a final decision. I'll probably be buying in September...

My brake discs need changing and I'm unsure about which to choose. I've been thinking about getting a set of Braking or Galfer discs, but which are the better choice? Are there better alternatives at the same pricepoint? I've been trawling the net and have to admit that I'm kind of confused... Advise please...

I've just created a Photobucket account so here goes. This is my FZ1s with a Poly26 bellypan, and some other stuff. I've since added some red aluminium mesh to the holes. I haven't got any pictures of that yet though.

I've got one of these on mine. I painted mine plain black though, it goes better with Lava Red I think...

It look like graphite metallic to me too or maybe antracite (Does antracite have a greenish tint?). Could be the picture or my monitor though... I had another look at the page from the last link I posted and found a greenish black: http://www.motorradlack.de/produktliste/yamaha/yamaha-spritzlack/?start=183&inv_sort=&inv_search=  It's on the middle of the page roughly. The code is: RL/GNB, and the order number is 59-1828. The code for dark gray metallic is: 1086/DNMG, and the order number is 49-3792.
The colour on the rad shrouds is the same as the OEM silver metallic. This one I think: 767/LNMG, order number 49-1069.
I hope this helps.

I saw one at my local dealership and it was definitely an OEM colour, the dealer said so... It's not very common though. The one I saw had the OEM lower fairings and looked quite good I thought. The colour was like this one:

And by the way I hope this is the colour Mattsplat is talking about. If not, I don't know what to suggest.

I did a little research and found these: http://www.pure-2-stroke-spirit.info/download/yamaha_color_codes.pdf  ,  http:/ersionclub.proboards.com/thread/19634  ,  http://fazerowners.yuku.com/reply/275490/Re-Paint-code#.UxIURig-NZ0  ,  http://www.motorradlack.de/produktliste/yamaha/yamaha-spritzlack/

I think I found it: Light greenish grey metallic, 676/LGNM6, order code at the last link: 49-0863.
You could try to get a small sample to determine wether it's the right one...

I think the BMW RT came in a color like it, I think... Oh, and by the way, I think the greenish FZ1s came in '07.
I hope this helps.

Something along these lines you mean?http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y333/Olcoop/5efef19e.jpg
I know that I found a french site that had something like it for the FZ1, but I can't find it :rolleyes ... I think they're called pas de roue or something in french.

I think BMW has them on some of their enduros, maybe one of those can be modified to fit.

Looks GOOD! Is it from Top-sellerie? And how do you like it?
I'm thinking of getting a seat more or less like it for my '06 FZ1s.

What a view! I want to go now!
As for the levers. I've got ASV normal length ones on mine and I have to admit I love them! They look good and are very comfortable. I've been riding with them for about 20k km... I got them here: http://www.performanceparts-ltd.com/store/uk-YAMAHA-FZ_1__Fazer-10279-2006
Yes, they are a bit pricy but IMO worth the money.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Open heart surgery
« on: 14 June 2012, 11:43:36 pm »
Oh woe...
About three or four weeks ago my FZ1S gen2 dropped about 100 milliliter of coolant when I arrived at work. I called my mechanic who told me to keep a close eye on the level of coolant in the expansion reservoir. I did and all though the level fell a bit it wasn't much but it seemed that the colour changed to slightly brownish. Since I was planning to go to the Netherlands this week so I thought I'd better have a look at it just to be sure. I dipped a q-tip in the coolant and it came up blue. I had a look at the back of the oil filler cap, no mayonaise.
I'm not all that well versed in things mechanical so I went to see my mechanic. He told me to go for a ride and then keep an eye on the bottom of the engine. Apparently there is a hole which will leak coolant in case the ceramic gasket (Right term?) in the water pump had ruptured. I looked and there was a drop of coolant right where it shouldn't be.
I talked to my mechanic the next day. The verdict was open heart surgery... He will have to change the ceramic gasket, a 5-hour job, and not cheap either.
Have anyone else had this? I haven't read of it anywhere.

I've got a Kriega UScombo40, two US10's and an US20 bought as a package deal, and I love it. The bags are completely waterproof and they're very flexible. The only downside, if any, is that it's the tiniest bit difficult to get into the main compartment, when you have the bags on the bike, because of the rolled top.
I've been using one of the US10's and the US20 separately on shorter trips and have been surprised by how much stuff they hold. I've no trouble fitting either to my FZ1S, but using the UScombo40 you have to take care that the bags don't rub on the passenger handles.

Thanks. Yeah, I hope they'll be done soon, they've had it for three weeks now... I think I'll pop by them tomorrow to check up on it.

Hi there Foccers,
I'm a 41 year old dane who've been lurking on here for quite a while. So I thought it was time to join this forum.
I've got a lava red '06 FZ1s with a few mods; Puig DB, Akrapovic slip-on, K&N- filter, PC V, Autotune, WP shock, ASV levers, HEL brakelines og Poly26 bellypan.

Ready to be fitted: VentureShield, C.D. Flies...

I had a small accident a couple of years ago which left my poor bike a bit scratched, so I'm having it resprayed at the moment. I'm really looking forward to having it on the road again.
