Mine does that rear wheel spin thing in neutral too but if I may make a suggestion.
Don't get your bike serviced at a Yamaha stealer, you might not get it back. :rollin
See what I did with the emoji, kinda relevant methinks. :rolleyes

There is a custom seat company in Sussex that do a ride In ride out seat lowering service, they can also do a memory foam insert which is supposed to be better than a gel insert.
Thinking of popping there to check them out.
An inch could make all the difference.
Ooh er missus.

Hi, I'm about the same height as your brother and with a 29 inside leg.
On my gen 1 thou I'm on the balls of my feet solo which is ok, not taken my mrs on the back yet but would expect the bike to squat lower with her on it plus luggage, I tried the z1000sx and that was balls of feet but better with the mrs on it.
Still bought a gen1 though. More character.

Looked at buying a 900 tracer, too tall for me I'm afraid.

That's how mine looks now with the 80mm bolt, stuck a nylock nut behind the first  nut though for belt and braces.

Apart from the adjustable span which is a real bonus i haven't noticed any increase in pull strength, as above i too use two fingers for clutch and brake but it's strange that the brake feels so much better with the short levers, don't know why it just does.

The fazer performed flawlessly.

You probably never noticed because the fuel warning light comes on too and it's brighter so will grab your attention.
Yeah I just checked too.

Just figured it out.
My body is 1 ft and my inside leg is 4ft 7 inch.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Mivv exhaust bolt
« on: 19 December 2016, 07:14:44 pm »
Bolt that came with the exhaust is too short, it's m8 70mm, it should be m8 80mm.
There is no way  a 70mm bolt gives enough thread on the other side of the footrest hangar for the bolt to bite.
Didn't post pics as I was too mivved off. See what I did there.

Forks are at their correct position i.e. Flush with top yoke.
I actually quite like being flat footed on it in my stockings.

has anybody successfully installed a mivv exhaust using the m8 bolt supplied, if so what wizardry did you employ, I can't get it to bite the nut on the other side of the footrest,it's just not long enough.
Poor measuring mivv personnel.

Yep it would be grease and oil city as I have my scottoiler dripping on the front sprocket.
I'm 5 ft 7 in my stockings.
Will check the dog bones for size.

I posted in this section merely because the fazer thou runs a slacker chain than the 600 and just wondered if the chain monkey gave the correct chain slack as per the monkey setting.

does anyone use a chain monkey to set the chain slack.
If so does it give the correct slack.

FZS600 Fazer / Fzs600 suspect it has been lowered
« on: 16 December 2016, 05:36:16 pm »
hi all.
I'm beginning to suspect that my 02 foxeye has been lowered.
I'm not particularly tall yet my feet are flat on the floor whilst sitting on the bike and also it's a real bugger to get it on its centre stand, my thou is so much easier to get on its centre stand.
Is there a way to tell if it has been lowered.

Just saying :)

General / Re: Riding to work
« on: 07 December 2016, 06:57:03 pm »
Was riding into work one winter, snow was on the ground.
Was doing about 30mph when and arm came out of a van coming towards me and lobbed a snowball.
It hit me right in the chest.
It hurt.
