Had this happened to mine, my local Yamaha dealer (after a lot of foccin about) had the bike for 16 weeks. All sorts of excuses about waiting for parts from Yamaha. I ended up phoning Yamaha UK and they got back to me saying the dealer had had the parts for over a month. Yamaha allow the dealer 11.5 hrs to do the job but mine fitted it in between doing other jobs hence the 16 week wait to get my bike back. The Dealer in question shut down a few months back,--Not surprised!!!

Phoned my local main agent today to see what the parts would cost  :eek £672.62. I think the car will be on it`s way to the scrapyard in the next few weeks, Tax runs out end of July MOT next February the cars not worth spending that much money on it so it`s going.

:car Parked up at the local Garden Centre yesterday, went to start the car and couldn`t release the steering lock or turn the ignition key. Called the AA and the guy had to butcher the ignition barrel trying to sort it out. Ended up with a hot wire system to keep me going.
The outcome is that I need a new ignition barrel and probably a new steering column :'( Imobilisor still works as does all the other electrics except the clock and outdoor thermostat.(fuse ?)
May end up fitting a switch for the ignition and a push button for the starter motor and forget the steering lock and new ignition barrel.

How fast was the bloke in the car going if he couldn`t stop behind the lorry or was he chatting/texting on his mobile?
Good luck with the bike and glad you`re not badly hurt.

I`ve got 3 pairs of Boots (Size 9) that you are welcome to. All are in wearable condition with no broken zips or any bits missing. I could put them in the post or bring them to the circuit (300+ miles round trip  :eek :car ) when you have a track day. Just let me know if you are interested and I`ll sort something out. Also got an Akito Desert textile suit, probably no good for track days but if you can make use of it you are welcome to it.

My 2001 FZS600 (alas no longer with us) was exactly the same, seemed to stay on full for ages then drop like a stone untill the red light came on, just the way they are :wall

Is your bike a parallell import? Certain bikes supplied for one of the Scandinavian countries, Norway I think, didn`t have the Fazer logo the fairing as this was the name of a well known chocolate bar.
As for getting the logo`s I had to get a dealer to order mine from Japan and they aint cheap. About £50 for the pair  :eek and that was a few years back.

Had both mine done years ago. watched the surgeon do the first one  :eek  Takes about 20 mins and the worst part is where the blood is trying to get back down your arm because of the tornique they put on your shoulder. A lot of people told me it was a waste of time as the op didn`t work, it did for me, felt like I had two new hands after they healed completely. Off work for 6 weeks after each op

I can`t fault the treatment I`ve had from the NHS. Three scans on my heart to find out exactly what my problem was, Cardiologist explained what they were doing and why, also have to have an Endoscopy every two years . Luckily everything controlled by drugs.  :thumbup

purplebear 7,  The Carb looks like an Amal MK2 concentric, used as replacement for the original 1 1/2 inch GP2. made the bike easier to start and gave better slow to mid range running.

Err, wrong again :wall  It`s the indicator bulbs so I should have said amber. The lens `s are amber ("R" reg Megane ) that`s why I was surprised it was an MOT failure for having clear bulbs,

Took the Cage in for its MOT today, Failed for a broken front suspension spring and both rear indicator bulbs for being clear not red. Nothing wrong with the lenses colour not faded and no cracks or splits, how long has this been in force as they were the same bulbs as were fitted last year when it passed. :deal

Went past Allins/Hallens in Cambridge the other day and noticed their shop is empty, don`t know if they have shut down or moved to another location. So nearest bike shop is now Letchworth (apart from a Royal Enfield, Scooter and Moped shop)

Got a problem with BBCiplayer, downloaded their latest version and since then every programme I download wont play as I get the message
"Licence Pending" Emailed iplayer website and eventually got a reply telling me to look in FAQ`s etc (which I had already done) Uninstalled Iplayer and adobe air then re-installed them both but it didn`t make any difference. BBC dont seem very interested in this problem, any one got any suggestions on what I can do to solve it.  :pc

I think they have a similar rule in the "Grand Arcade" in Cambridge, why anyone would want to take photos in there I don`t know, it`s full of coffee shops and mobile phone shops   :rolleyes
